When we first met Nicholas, he was being severely bullied and we wanted to give him something
to remind him how much he is loved and supported.
We created a special blue and yellow heart shaped pillow just for Nicholas. _
Six months later, Nicholas came to a show and told us. _ _ _
And instead of presents, I asked my friends to buy me [N] so other kids could have heart pillows like me.

and the Big Heart [Am] Award was directly inspired [Bb] by Nicholas' [F] special birthday wish.
[C] Thanks to Nicholas, the Big Heart Award was [F] born.
[C] We gave out [Dm] 68 Big Heart Awards [Am] across Canada.
[C] Big Heart Awards went to people of all [F] ages and abilities.
They went to people who are [Bb] doing amazing things in their [F] community.
They went to people who could use a bit [Dm] of extra love and support.
[Bb] We learned that having a big heart [C] means taking care of the people you [F] love.
And sometimes it [C] means taking care of the people you [Dm] don't even know.
[Am] Having a big heart [Bb] means [F] loving and accepting everyone for [C] exactly who they are.
It means standing up [F] tall for people who are being [C] bullied.
It [Dm] means giving away your stuffy [Am] to an autistic boy who [Bb] lost his in a [C] tornado.
It [F] means raising money for a hospital where you have spent much of your [Bb] life.
[F] It means smiling at a stranger.
[Dm] Having a big heart [Bb] means leading with kindness all the time, [C] no matter what.
It means [F] listening and learning how other people [C] communicate.
_ [Dm] _ [Am] Having a big heart [Bb] means shoveling [F] snow for your neighbour who isn't able to.
[C] It means you are kind and [F] generous.
[C] It means you care deeply [Dm] about other people and [Am] it shows. _
[Bb] [C] Having a big heart means giving loving [F] homes to people who need it.
Having [Bb] a big heart means being a [F] pen pal who stays in touch, no matter [Dm] what.
[Bb] Having a big heart means teaching your [C] class sign language so that you can communicate with them.
_ _ It means making new friends with someone who really needs a friend.
