This program is [A] produced by Willie Pollard.
And now, [E] here's your host, Billy Pollard.
[E] And right now we're going to have the Joe Lofts come up here and sing another old, old memory lane song entitled
He Leadeth Me.
So come up here guys and tear it up.
One of the things that I wanted to do was to go back through the hymnals.
You remember the hymnals, I told you about the hymnals.
And take some of those old songs that my grandmother used to play and to play them again.
Most of them, when you played them in church, they were kind of in marches.
A lot of them were like six, eight time, which is fun, but that wasn't the kind of music that my family could play.
And so we would mess with the timing a [C] little bit and shift the pulse on a lot of these songs.
At least that's what I learned I'd been doing later from a music prof.
[N]
You know, one day I was a hillbilly and the next day I was shifting the meter.
[E]
My God, [A] I had no idea that I could even do [G] that.
So it was a, I don't know, you know, the opinion of myself was boosted there for just a minute.
But this is one of those wonderful old [E] songs that we used to sing on the Sunday afternoons.
It's called He Leadeth Me.
[C] [G] [F] [C]
He leadeth me, [F] O wondrous thought, [C] O words with heavenly [G] comfort fraught.
[C] Where'er I go, [F] where'er I be, [C] it's by [Am] His hand [C] He leadeth me.
He [G] leadeth me, [F] He [C] leadeth me, by His own hand He [G] leadeth me.
[C] His [G] faithful [Dm] follower I would be, [C] for by His hand He leadeth me.
[F]
[C] [G]
[Am] [C]
Sometimes midst scenes [F] of deepest gloom, [C]
sometimes when Eden's [G] bowers gloom,
[C] by water still [F] or troubled sea, [C] it's by [Am] His hand [C] He leadeth me.
He [G] leadeth me, [F] He [C] leadeth me, by [Am] His own hand He [G] leadeth me.
[C] His [G] faithful [Dm] follower I [C] would be, for by [Am] His hand He [C] leadeth me.

[A]
And when my task on earth is done, and when by grace victory [G] is won,
[C] even death's cold hands, [F] I shall not flee [C] for Christ [Am] through joy, [C] He leadeth me.
He [G] leadeth me, [F] He [C] leadeth me, by His [Am] own hand He [C] [G] leadeth me.
[C] His [G] faithful [Dm] follower I would be, [C] for by His hand He leadeth me.
