I play five string banjo in the three finger [Am] scrug style.

[A] the traditional bluegrass, but at the same time I also like more progressive bluegrass
and I kind of like [G] the [Am] virtuoso such as Bela Fleck, Scott Vestal, and Tony Trischka.
_ I
[G] like to play the traditional [Am]
songs with a little bit of flair added to them.
[G] Really
the banjo for [Am] me is just my passion and I really [D] _ _ _ do feel like there's a connection between
me and the [Am] banjo whenever I play it.
_ _ I feel like it's kind of an [G] extension of my body.
[D] I feel like I was born [Am] to play the banjo. _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ It really [A] all started just listening to the
bluegrass on the radio.
I found that I liked listening to bluegrass on the radio when I
[E] started going to festivals and _ [Am] watching bluegrass bands play.
_ The [A] _ _
_ _ more I was around that atmosphere,
the more I [G] realized that the banjo was [A] my primary instrument that I wanted to play because
it just stuck [B] out to me more than any other instrument in the [F] band.
[A] _ _ My dad's best [D] friend
was a [A] banjo player.
He plays in the band, [E] One Mountain [A]
Station.
_ _ He got me started.
He
sold me a banjo.
He got me started teaching me [E] and got me off on the basics.
_ [A] _ _
It pretty
much all went from there. _ _ _ _

_ _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [B] _
_ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _

_ [N] There's a few friends my age that I've met through the bluegrass
that I'll play with occasionally, but primarily _ _ I'll usually play with people older than me
_ just because they're usually more serious [Am] about it like I am.

_ _ _ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ I'd like to make it my
career because there's really nothing [E] else.
I mean I have other interests, but this is
[C] the [D] primary one and I feel like if [Am] I could go somewhere with this I'd be real happy. _ _
