[C] [F]
[Am] [Dm] Hello there, CryoDog here.
Going to do a song lesson [N] today on a song called Stuck On You.
It's an old song by Lionel Richie, who's actually from the same state I live in, Alabama.
So let's get into it.
Okay, so the song [Em] is in standard tuning, and we have our capo should be [B] on the fifth fret.
And so the chords for the verse and chorus are the same.
And [Ab] it's kind of a slow song, and so let's get into the chords.
So for the verse, we start out [F] with a C shape.
Then we go to an E [Bb] minor,
[Am]
and then to an [Bb] F shape,
[G] and then to [Cm] a G shape.
[Gb]
So that's the chords for the verse and the chorus.
And there's a second section or piece, which I guess would be like [Bb] a bridge.
And that is using an F shape, [C] a G shape.
[A] And then it does some, this weird kind of walk down from [F] a C [Dm] to an A minor.
[F] [C]
[D] [Cm] [F]
[Am] [D]
[Dm] Okay so [G] that's the bridge, and I'll get into that a little further in the video.
Okay so the structure of the song.
[Bb]
[F] [Am]
[Bb] [C]
[F]
[Am] [Bb]
[C] [F]
[Am]
[Bb] And the way I feel now, [C] yes I'll be with you [F] to the end.
[Am] Yes I'm on my [Bb] way.
[C]
[D] Okay so that's the verse, and I guess that's pretty much the chorus to chord [F] progression.
So it's C, [Am]
E minor, [Bb] F, [C]
G, [F]
[Am] just over and over.
[Bb]
[C]
[N] And then the bridge part I was talking about.
This is a pretty quick lesson because it's a pretty easy song to play.
But the bridge part is [Bb] a
Oh, [C] I'm leaving on [F] that midnight train [Dm] tomorrow.
[Bb] And I [C] know just where [F] I'm [Dm]
going.
[Bb] Packed [C] all my troubles, [F] and I've thrown them [Dm] all away.
[Bb]
This time darling, I'm coming home, [C] home to stay.
[F] Stuck [Am] on you, [Bb] got this feeling down deep [C] in my soul that just [F] can't shake.
[Am] Yes I'm on [Bb] my way.
[C] [Bb] So that's [Ab] the bridge leading back into the verse.
Come to think of it, this song really doesn't have a chorus.
It's pretty much just the verse [Em] and the two verses.
Which I think the first verse is repeated again later on in the song.
And then that [Bb] bridge part.
[C]
So if you wanted to pick that, or finger [Eb] pluck it,
while instead of strumming, you could do that as [F] well.
[Am]
[Bb]
[C] [F]
[Am] [Bb]
[C] [Bb] So that's the verse.
And then if you wanted to finger pluck,
or [G] there's probably several different names for it, I'm just going to call it finger plucking.
You could, the bridge, it's a little different for the [Bb] bridge.
[C]
[G] [F] [C]
[D] [Dm] [Bb]
[C] [F]
[Am] [Dm]
[Bb] And then the last part of that where it holds onto that F shape.
[C] [Ab] That one you can pluck, you [Bb] just have to,
[C]
[F] [Am]
[Bb]
[C] then you'll obtain the song.
Obviously resolving that to [F] the first chord, which was a C shape.
Which also
[Bb] is the key of the song.
But it's not actually a C chord.
This would be [N] a, I believe it would be an F.
Sounding tonal quality.
So we can determine that.
We have the first [C] C shape, that would be a C, [Bm]
D,
but you'd have to bar that to make it a true D.
But just for simplicity purposes.
D, E, and this is where our capo would be.
So we're moving the C up, so this would be [A] an F.
Okay, so that's it for this song lesson.
I do hope that it has been helpful, and not confusing.
As a lot of the videos I've seen of different songs, some of those are quite confusing.
And I try to avoid that.
I try to make things as simple as possible.
And really easy to follow.
So I hope I'm doing that.
Please leave me some comments below.
If you have any suggestions for future videos that may make things a little better, or easier to follow.
Talking funny today for some reason.
And I will be glad to include that in future lessons.
