Off the new Smith & Meyers double album.
Did anyone have the new Smith & Meyers double album yet?
If you don't know this, we were [B] here in January of 2019.
[Gm] And what [E] happened was, we were on stage, [G] and usually Brent would talk in [B] between songs
and [Am] do something like this on the hood.
And he's just talking and talking, and he goes, you know, a lot of people have been asking us,
when are we going to make a new Smith & Meyers record?
And he said, I'm just going to let you guys know that later on this year,
we're going to go make a Smith & Meyers double album.
And my plan went from this, to like this.
[F#] Because guess what?
[B] That's exactly how it happened.
Because guess what?
That's the first time I'd ever heard about it, ladies and gentlemen.
On stage in front of 2,000 people.
He didn't say, hey, can we go make a double record?
He just said,
I'm just going to tell all these people, and then it'll be on all the rock and news websites the next day.
And then we got a tour.
[C#] So guess what?
That [E] was my manifesting [D#] of [B] everything that way.
As soon as you [A] throw it out into the [B] atmosphere, you kind of have to make it happen.
Guess what?
A double album later, here we are, ladies and gentlemen.
And I [E] realized I just did a Brent Smith move, and I [C#] switched the songs on the [A#] set list.
Ah, [Am] my bad.
We can do it now.
Let's just do it now.
Let's flip it around.
I saw these two goons walk up here, and I was like, oh, I'm going with Brent Smith.
And I read the set list wrong.
Listen, I made this set list about 45 minutes before we go on [E] stage.
And I was like, did you just call our voice [B] the goons?
Look at these fools.
Now, [Am] listen, ladies and gentlemen, [B] we have been, how many shows have we been in?
Five?
Five, six.
Five, six [Am] shows?
All right.
[F] I don't know if y'all know this or not, but [E] this is JR Moore.
Say [B] hi, JR.
[A] We call him Damn Daddy.
[F#] And most of you are like, what the hell for?
And for the last three [B] shows, Brent's been trying to get him to take his shirt off every show.
Yes.
Why [D] am I, why am [C] I, why am I trying to [A] have this?
[C#] Because the guy was like, you know what, six, seven months ago, he was like, I don't really like the way my body looks, so I think I'm going to start [Am] working out.
And now, he's turned into, underneath that shirt, ladies and gentlemen, he's a great [B] kid.
It's just another shirt.
It's just another [Am] shirt.
He wants to take his shirt off in front of everybody.
One time, the boy said, yeah, you can't take your shirt off, because what he does is just another shirt.
I was like, all right, sure.
But as the evening progresses, because we have a few more songs, I'm going to ask for a chant that only Jersey can do.
Take it off!
Take it off!
[B] Take it off!
[N]
Take it off!
Take it off!
During the [A] slippery wetlands, Robles Hall.
[Am] I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I think the freakiest man on the floor is going to do it.
[Em]
[A] Oh, my, sugar,
[Em] sugar, you, you [Am] are not me.
Lazy man, [Em] with the distance [Am] in your eyes.
[Em] Oh, no, I say [Dm] too much.
I [Am]
say it out.
That's me in the corner.
That's me in the [Em] spotlight.
Losing [Am] my religion.
Trying to [Em] keep up with you.
[Am] And I don't know if I can do it.
[Em] Oh, no, I say [Am] too [Dm] much.
I haven't said [D] enough.
I thought [A] that I heard you [F] laughing.
I thought that I heard you [Am] scream.
I blinked out of thought.
I saw you [Am] try.
[D]
Every whisper.
Every waking [B] hour.
Choosing my confession.
Trying [E] to keep my eye on you.
Like a [Am] bird lost in line.
Oh, no, I say [Am] too much.
I [D] say it out.
You're a [Am] terrorist.
You're a terrorist.
[Em] Breaking up the century.
You're a terrorist.
You're a slave.
[E] You're walking into my heat.
[Am] You're the oil on every glass.
You [B] stop flailing around.
And now I say too [D] much.
I thought that I [F] heard you laughing.
I thought that I [Am] heard you scream.
[G] I blinked out of thought.
I saw you [Am] try.
[D]
[A]
[C] I thought that I was just a [Dm] dream.
[C] I was just a [Am] dream.
That's me in the corner.
That's me in [Em] the spotlight.
Losing my religion.
Trying to keep [E] up with you.
[Am] And I don't know if I can do it.
[B]
Oh, no, I say too [Am] much.
I say it [D]
out.
I thought [E] that I heard you [F] laughing.
I thought that I heard [Am] you scream.
[F] I blinked out of thought.
I saw you [Am] try.
[D] I thought [F] that I was just a dream.
[Am] I tried.
I tried.
I tried.
[F] I thought that I was just a dream.
Just a [D] dream.
Just a dream.
A [E] dream.
