[G] 1968, then the early 70s they started playing Unashamed, 12 Bar Boogie and developed an enormous following.
They've had 27 top 20 singles and 15 top 5 albums, many of them remarkably similar.
We all went to see them this week playing at the NEC in Birmingham.
One of the songs they included was, of course, the John [C] Fogarty classic, Rocking All Over The World.
I'm a woodpecker, I'm a blue, [F] I'm a running high,
There's something in me that keeps [C] me going,
Oh, [G] I'm rocking all [C] over the world,
You know what I mean?
I'm rocking, I'm rocking, I'm rocking, I'm rocking,
[F] I'm rocking, I'm rocking, I'm rocking, [C] I'm rocking,
Here we go, oh, [G] I'm rocking all over [C] the world.
Oh yeah!

You never get credited for such, is it?
That's right.
People don't go, Rossi rules okay on walls, they say.
They don't get credited for the songs they write either.
I mean, they write some great pop commercial songs and they never get credited as great songwriters.
Everybody thinks it's a 12 bar three chord bash.
But those are the artist songs to come up with.
But they are.
And the harmonies.
The harmonies were spot on all the way through.
Really good three part harmonies.
Really?
Well, I was quite pleased.
There were quite a few things that stood out for me.
That great 70s tradition of all gathering together as you just saw that end bit there.
A few times I thought maybe one or two of them might have forgotten the chords.
But of the three chords they played in every number, they seemed to remember them okay.
It didn't seem to be so bad.
And the audience absolutely lapsed it up.
It was really interesting watching the audience.
There's plenty of sort of talking to the audience and lights on the audience.
When they'd all put their invisible guitars down, they were genuinely getting behind it.
I did think, I felt they did look like a band that were fed up with playing after two years.
I've actually seen Qo go down far better than they did at the NEC last Sunday.
I mean, they had a great crowd.
It was an afternoon show and it was a bit of a downer atmosphere.
But I've seen them go far better than they did that night.
Yeah, but then again, they started off with Paper Plot, well with Caroline.
Caroline and Paper Plot.
Which is my favourite status quo.
And I actually bought it when it came out.
I thought this is great.
And then they did Paper Plot.
And in those two songs, they'd really done it all.
They just continued doing what they'd done in those first two songs for the next, as
you said, two and a half hours.
Well, that's the point, isn't it?
Obviously, Qo fans go there in great numbers because they like it and they like the show
to be two and a half hours.
Myself, I've got this theory that 45 minutes is the maximum attention span of the human ear.
And that's why albums are around 40, 45 minutes.
I really adore them for any half hour of the set, but I found two and a half hours a
All in one go, it might be too long.
I was amazed out there in the crowd, the sort of mixture of age groups in the crowd, and
there was all ages, you know, people in their forties.
You know, there was young kids about 10 years old.
A great, great span of age groups there.
And they were all getting into it.
All the kids were going, a lot of them.
It was brilliant.
Do you think they're really going to break up?
I think they're definitely stopping on the road.
I don't think they're going to do any more on the road.
But I think they're going to make it.
Yeah, it's starting to get to the point where you can tell Francis' songs and Richard's
songs, and you can tell, you know, like, they're slowly moving apart.
And in just over an hour's time, Stelios Krol will be on stage [D] again.
