I must say that I thank God in the name of Jesus Christ, my
Lord and Savior [Bb] for the Shirelle standing here this evening.

that we've seen.
Nobody knows but Jesus and thank God he brought us through it all.

I simply have to say, I speak for all of us, I must say [B] that we deserve [Bb] this.

What took you so long?
[Gb] _ No, please believe me, I'm very,
very grateful and we're very, very honored.
And who would have thought that four teenagers
from Passaic High School _ [N] would write a song called I Met Him on Sunday, would have a classmate
by the name of Mary Jane Greenberg in the audience, whose mother, Florence Greenberg,
owned a record company, and would record us and it would lead us to the Hall of Fame
and we would have this historical moment.
Ms.
Nolan, I thank you and I thank all of
the people who rallied for the Shirelles.
David Hinckley, I know you did, God bless
you.
And all the DJ personalities and to anyone who's given me anything [B] from love, I treasure
[B] it.

Doris and to Shirley, we [G] made wonderful music
together, [Eb] we had good times and we had bad times, but through it all we were troopers
and God brought us through it [Gb] and I'm proud to grace the stage with you this evening and

_ _ _ 1957 is when we started the group, the Shirelles.
We were babysitting and we just were fooling
around, we were doing it for fun and like Bubba of the Pips, Gladys Knight and the
Pips said, later on we tried to do it for a little bit of money [B] as well as the love
of the music.
But I'd like to thank my family for putting up with these crazy schedules.
I'd like to thank all of our fans and friends and all of you who love the Shirelles music.

And thank you so much for all your support all these years because we certainly needed
it.
That's why we're still able to work today because of everyone out here.
And we are all
currently working and we're making a little bit of [A] money too.

throughout [Gm] the years today, you know what I like best?
That today we can [Gb] get on the stage
and just have plain old fun.

Of course during [Db] the 60s, you gotta [B] remember, we were
ladies and [E] we couldn't do that.

here in 1996, ladies and gentlemen, from the very
bottom of our hearts, we thank you, we love you, [Bb] we [B] never ever thought that it would go this far.
And I'm still looking forward until tomorrow.
