The last spot left in the final and soon we'll be getting the junkies verdict one more time.
Well let's meet our last two hopefuls, Sean Crush and Joel Ewing.
[Gm] Hi, my name is [N] Sean Crush, I'm from [G] Pennsylvania, United States and hopefully I win the medal.
This is my first time in the UK and we're real excited to be over here to represent
the United States.
When you go out and do a show, it's not just a [C] 600 theatre, I mean, [G] we're doing 3-4,000
people a part.
This is an original piece, it belonged to Elvis.
In [C] 77, a friend of mine [G] rented it, loaned it, did not give for me to wear over here now.
To win the title of this competition would really be incredible.
It's like a heavyweight championship belt, you know, not something you get every day.
[A]
The first time I ever sang a concert as Elvis was when I was [Bm] 16, I was still at school.
[A] My mum had to make me a jumpsuit and I thought that everyone's just going to take the mickey
out of me, but [Bm] it actually went down [D] really well [E] and for a little while people were calling
me the king.
I [D] started busking [A] on London Underground.
To go from busking to winning [D] World's Greatest Elvis would be [E] great, it would be like a dream come true.
Thank you very much, you've been a [A] great audience.
[N] What better way to prove that Elvis' credentials than to take on one of his greatest cover
versions, singing the iconic song My Way and doing it his way.
Please welcome from London, Joel Ewens and all the way from Pennsylvania, USA, Sean Cross!
[C]
[G] [Gm]
[A] [D] [Dm]
I'll [C#] say it clear, state [F] my [G] case, of [C] which I'm certain.
[G] [C] I've lived a life that's full, I've [F] travelled each and [A#] every byway.
[C] Knowing more, much [F] more than this, [G] I [F] did it my
[C] way.
Yes,
[Em] I've had a few, [Gm] but then again, too [A] few to mention.
[Bm] [A] [Dm] I did what [A] I had to do, [F] and saw it through [G]
[C] without exemption.
I've planned each charted course, [F] each careful step [G#] along the byway.
I've seen [C] the moon more, much [F] more than [G] this.
[F] I've lived my life.
[C] Oh, [G] what [C] is a man, what has he got?
[F] What if he says, oh, he or not.
[Em] You say [Dm] the words, you [G] truly feel.
[Em] And I'm aware of [Am] what it is.
The [Dm] record shows, I took [G] the blows.
I [Dm] did it my [C]
way.
The record [Dm] shows, I took [G] the blows.
And [Dm] I'm aware [C] of what it is.
[C#m] The
[Am] [N] record shows, I took the blows.
The record shows, I took the blows.
Paul, you didn't quite capture that inner energy that he had, that actually came out through every pore in his skin.
Brendan, when you do your heels, you need to really drive your heel into the stage.
It was just a bit light for him.
He was a little bit sort of more aggressive.
Sean, that was terrific.
He was so contained, but so him.
I loved it.
I thought that was amazing.
Paul, I liked how you used your voice because by this point in Elvis' life, he had his whole range down pat.
He had it rounded like all the colors of the rainbow.
And I thought you did that very well.
Like I thought the two of you, you and Brendan, you actually have a nice double act.
You, you had Elvis' vibrato.
You know, that's important.
He had a certain vibrato, didn't he, that worked.
And Aaron, I know you don't speak English, Aaron, so can I just say, arigato gozaimasu.
Joe, I know this was a very, very sentimental concert for you when you guys turned up in Hawaii.
It was amazing.
And you know, I look at them, they're all wearing the American Eagle jumpsuit.
You know, Elvis knew he was going to reach over a billion people around the world.
And he wanted a very patriotic suit to wear.
So the world knows he loved America.
So it makes me feel good.
And I think they did a wonderful job.
But I got to admit, Sean did it.
Sean did it his way.
And it gives me goose bumps.
