So check it out and see what you think.
You really have nothing to lose and you can be supporting the site along the way.
So let's start here, we're in standard tuning.
We're going to start kind of an awkward beginning here.
We're going to start with an open low E string, [Dbm] pick the [Bm] 16th fret and slide it down to [E] 14
on the A string.
So as you [B]
get down [E] to that 14, you're already picking the low E again.
So you just never stop [A] the down up across those strings [B] and you have to time [E] the slide accordingly.
Then we're going to take [Db] it here, you're going to grab this C sharp here, it's the 9th fret
on the low E.
[A] You're going to grab the 12th fret on [Ab] the A string and slide it down [Db] to
11 with that same kind of still picking across from the 6th to the 5th string.
[E]
Then it goes back to the open string and it slides up in there.
[Db]
Now that's the [E] clean part of the intro, it also makes up the verse.
Now over that intro part we have these double stops that are played, kind of a distorted tone.
So let me play those real quick for you and we'll check them out.
So it's pretty much a lot of that.
You're just going to play the 14th fret on the D, 13 on the G.
You pick those two notes and then release the pressure immediately so they die out.
[Em] Then you're going to play at the very end of it the 9th fret across the [D] D and [E] the G
string and kill that as well.
So
[D] that's pretty much for the intro.
Now a lot of these guitar parts, they do a lot of layering.
They take these same parts and put them over different sections of the song.
So now when it goes into the verse we have this, still that same intro that we did and
it has this little lick over it.
[B]
[Gb] [E] Then they'll also bring in this along with that.
So there's three things going on at once, just so you'll know what's going on.
So that little phrase I just did [Ab] was, it's very muted, 4 6 on the D string.
Just kind [E] of borrow your first finger across.
Then you're going to get the 4th fret on the G [Abm] and [Eb] then the 4th fret on the B and you're
going to let that [Ab] one ring out a little bit.
[Bb]
And then back to the 4th fret on the [E] G [Eb] and [A] then you're going to play [Ab] 7 6 on the D [Gb] making
your way back down to the 4 to start it all over again.
So we have this.
[Abm]
[B]
Just repeat it.
[Gb]
[E] Alright, then we get to the chorus.
Now the chorus has two parts as well.
The first one is just a simple little octave thing.
It sounds like this.
[Gb]
[E] [Gb]
[E] [Gb]
[E] [Gbm]
[E] Alright so that's pretty much just the octave of the 7th fret on the A and the 9th fret
on the G.
Muting that D string in between.
And you're going to have the low E string in there and [Gb]
then you're going to move up
to the 9th fret and then [E] start back over.
[Gb] [E]
Now on top of that we have that cool guitar melody and it sounds like this.
[B]
[E] [Bb]
[Ab] [C]
[E] Alright so that starts here at the 5th fret on the B [D] with the [E] high E string with it.
Now slide up on the B string to the 12th.
You still have that open high E string and now play the 11th fret on the [Bb] high E along
[B] with that 12th fret on the [E] B.
So we have this.
[B] [E]
Now we're going to have the open E again along with the 9th fret on the B string and [G] then
we're going to get to those unison bends.
You [Eb] play the 11th fret on the high E and the 14th on the B string.
You're going to pick them together and bend the 14th fret up a whole step until it matches
the pitch [Cm] of the high E string.
[Ebm] Do that.
A little bend [G] and
[Ab] release it and do some vibrato on it.
Play this.
[Db]
[Eb] Then do the [Ebm] bends again and [E] then bring it down to the 9th fret with the open E again.
All together.
[B] [E]
[Bb]
[Ab]
[E]
Alright, so depending on how many times they play the chorus he'll repeat that or not.
Alright, so it goes back through the verse and all that good stuff with the same stuff
every time.
Now we have this little breakdown section.
It sounds like this.
[Ab]
[A] [Db]
[B]
[E]
[B]
[E] [Bb]
[E]
That just starts with the octave at the 7th fret here again.
Twice.
[Ab] Kill it.
Move it up to the 11th fret twice.
Then twice again.
Then twice one more time.
[D] And then move over to the 11th fret off the D string.
So this octave is a little bit different [Db] shape.
You're going to have the 11th fret on the D and the 14th on the B.
Make sure you mute the G string in the middle.
[E] Like this.
[Ab]
[Dbm] Alright, and then we get to those bends.
You pretty much pick up in the middle of the chorus [Eb] riff, the melody that we did just a minute ago.
[E] And then it's the same as that chorus.
I'm sorry.
[B] [E]
Alright, so it's pretty much the [G] same exact thing for the rest of the song.
It's that chorus riff.
So it's a really cool one.
It's pretty simple to play.
So hopefully pretty much anybody can take a whack at it.
Alright, I'll see you again soon for guitarlessons365.com.
Bye.
