Alright guys, this is Fabriano and I figured I put this video on YouTube showing some beginners
to intermediate Seben patterns.
I don't want to get into the basics and explaining what Seben is but basically Seben is just
a Congolese music that the whole Africa loves, at least the French part.
I just want to show you guys how to play Seben on keyboard.
Mainly Seben has the lead guitar, it has the accompaniment, it has the bass, it has the
drum and why not.
And often the keyboard is neglected but you can make some really cool sounds on the keyboard
playing Seben.
Basically today I want to show you just a basic pattern of Seben and if you like the
video then next time I'm going to put something else in.
So, this is what I'm going to be teaching you today.
It goes like this.
The basic way, the basic form goes like this.
[F] [Am] [Eb] [F]
[Em] [C] [F] [Em] [G]
[F] [Em] [C] [F]
[Em] [F] [C]
[F] [C] [F]
[C] I'm pretty sure you heard that before.
So basically what am I [F] doing?
I'm doing the F chord, [G]
the G chord and [Am] you [C] can look at it like A minor or C chord.
Basically what am I doing?
I'm playing the F and the A.
I'm playing it like [F] this.
[Dbm] And after that I'm [Em] using these two chords also.
These two notes, I'm using the G and the B [C] and then I'm using also the A and the C.
[F] So basically I'm playing the pattern like this.
That [Gb] part [F] three times.
[G]
[Am] [Em] [F]
[Em] [C] So the F and the A, I'm playing three [F] times.
[C] And then I work it up to G and then to B [F]
[G] [N] and then I work it up also to A and to [F] C.
So one, two, [B] three, [Am] one, two [G]
and then I come back to the G and the [Em] B two times.
[F]
[G] [C] And then I end everything on C.
Look at it.
The note that is missing is just the E right here.
[E]
But I can also play the E here.
So basically the [Eb] whole thing [F] is, [C] [Em] [F]
[Cm] I can end on top like [Ab] that [F] or I can do [Em] [F] [Em]
[C] like this.
[F] So work on this.
[C] [F] [G]
[C] [F] [C]
[F] [C] [F]
[Em] Hold on.
What was that?
What was that?
What was that I did?
So basically I use fillers.
We can call it fillers.
I just went on top here and I play E [Dm] and G.
I came down to D [Ab] and F [C] and then C and E.
So basically I just play like this.
See that?
[D] [C]
So after [F] [Em] doing
[F]
[Em] [C] [F] [C]
[F] [Em] [C] [F]
[Em] [F]
[Em] [C] [F]
[Em] [F] [C]
And that's what I just did.
So that's in the key of C.
And then when you master that, then you can take it to pretty much anywhere that you want.
You [F] can [Am] do
[Em] [F] [C] [F]
[C] [F] [C]
[F] [C] [F]
[C] [F] [C]
[F] Sorry.
[C]
So you can take [N] it pretty much anywhere that you like.
If you like this video, comment.
If you like to see more, just comment.
I'm not doing this thing to show off my skills.
I'm just doing it to show
to help youngsters out there that love 7.
And they have absolutely no clue where to start.
So basically you can start here.
You can start here.
If you like it, just comment.
If you don't like it, that's fine.
Comment, hit the like button or something.
But if you're sure you want to criticize, make sure that you put something better than mine.
If you want to criticize it, just put another video showing you playing these 7 patterns.
So we also can learn from you.
Don't just comment it.
Don't just criticize it without showing something else.
Alright, this is Febreno.
Until next time, enjoy.
Okay, bye.
