[E] [G] And something I thought about in bed last night, I thought, oh, Slash, you
You were thinking about me in bed. Yeah.
Well, because I try and plan my program.
And so I turned over and I thought, hang on a minute, Slash played a solo for Michael
Jackson, didn't you?
I did a song, I did a record of his called Black or White, and I played on a song called
Give In To Me on that record, which was pretty cool.
And I did some other stuff with him, but that was the one that really sort of, you
know, I played the guitar solo and did a bunch of other guitar parts on there.
And I played on the song Black or White, but only in the very, very beginning, before the
actual song starts.
It was just me banging on the guitar in the beginning.
I'd like to hear that song you said you played on.
Yeah, it's called Give In To Me.
I don't know if you guys can pull it up that quick, but Hmm.
Hmm.
I haven't heard this in years.
Do I?
Really, like a long time.
I haven't either.
[C] I [G] think the album was called Dangerous, is what it was.
Ah, that's right.
Claire, is that right?
Is the record called Dangerous?
Okay.
Yeah, I remember that session, because that's when he and I first met, and I went down to
the record plant in LA, and I showed up there, and he was there, and he was with Brooke Shields, right?
Oh, really?
And they were dating, or they had just started dating at that point.
So I met the two of them, and then they took off to go have dinner, and he just gave me
free reign at the studio.
That's it.
So we got on great.
Did he say much?
No, he didn't.
He didn't really say much.
But we went on to do a lot, some more recording on that record, and then the next record,
and then a bunch of shows.
What did he say, like, here's a track, just play what you want?
Yeah, yeah, that's basically it.
I remember, because when he first called, I was in a hotel.
I was staying at the Rite House.
Oh, wow.
And I was in my room, and I got this phone call, and it said, Michael Jackson's trying
to get in touch with you.
So I said, can we give him your number?
And I was like, I guess so.
And so the phone rang five minutes later.
I said, hey, Slash.
Who's that?
But we got on really well, so it was a cool little combo.
Harmless, wasn't it?
Yeah, yeah.
Very nice.
But amazing.
Especially to work on stage with him.
It was just this kind of crazy energy that he had.
You were thinking about me in bed. Yeah.
