[F#] My first [C#] ever lap steel was an Oahu.
[Am] Then the [D#] first pedal steel was a company called MSA.
That was the first one.
Our [E] church has a bunch of guys that plays this, that plays the pedal steel.
It's kind of like the Buena Vista Social Club.
Sort of the history of where we come from.
It's called Sacred Steel.
[C] Bunch of guys.
Going all the way back to the 1930s.
These were all my Muddy Waters and my Albert Kings.
This is all we did.
So each guy had a different thing that they were known for.
This guy, Henry Nelson, [D#m] he's the one that kind
[E] of
[F#]

[D] Well, when I started listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, I was like, I wanted to play this like him.
You know, like Stevie Ray was like the thing, you know.
So much grit and dirt and bluesy and quick licks and clean licks, you know.
So that was always the hard part, you know.
But Stevie Ray Vaughan was like, yeah, that's like my main guy.
That's why I really try to play this.

[F#] Jimi Hendrix thought he was just playing the blues.
It's [C] like, hey, you're [A] a rock and roll god, [A#] you know.
It's like, [D] oh, man, I'm just playing my version of blues.
You know, [C] that's [A] what he interprets, you know.
[E] And so for me, it's kind of just [F#] letting all those influences kind of come out and you just, you know, become who you are.
The scary pedal steel guitar.
