Start Jamming...
I got a, uh, oh my heart is a-pounding.
We, uh, just put out a new record, Marty.
[G] It'll be out July the [Am] 19th.
[D] A bunch of old country [C] hits, redone.
[B] Doing quite a few of them in bluegrass style, the way God had picked them for me.
[N] Some of them are just [Db] real country, just like that right there.
We did, uh, I Don't [Ab] Care.
He Was Always Something When He Made [Db] You.
Or, [G] Heartbroke.
I don't even know what the other ones were.
Comfort [C] Boy.
All those kind of stuff.
[N] It'll be out, uh, July the 19th.
Can I say this?
Yes, sir.
Well, [G] that's your show.
Well, okay.
[Fm] But, uh, I said that you were a [Db] modern country and bluegrass master.
And that's true, because [Gb] country [G] music, it got the urban cowboys gears, what I call [D] it.
It happened, [Bm] and, uh, traditional country music has [N] started fading and dying.
And this man right here kind of single-handedly saved country music.
[G] Hey, this is Sam Clinton from Bluegrass, Indiana.
[C] Looks like we need some back-to-country music [Db] again.
Anytime you want to [Gb] play country music plugged [B] in, you know [G] you need to.
Well, thank you, Marty.
Me and the boys are going out and actually doing some shows called [C] the Cratcher Chips Tour.
[N] Old scripture in the Bible says, uh, a good man takes from his treasure chest things old and new.
And I thought, man, what a great time for a tour.
And, uh, because I love doing [Db] old songs.
I like doing [Cm] new things, too.
And so we're [B] doing some of our old country [Fm] hits with Paul, a country man, my school player,
or Terry Crisp, [N] a drummer, electric bass, and piano player.
So we're going out and doing, with Kentucky Thunder, buddy, for country songs.
And then we're doing bluegrass, In Your Face With An Attitude.
And, uh, and then we're doing songs from Mo Saffa [Ab] with recent gospel records.
So, uh, anyway, having a big time.
We're going to be here on the 30th of June [Bb] for a big [C] bluegrass night.
So many of you will [Abm] be here Thursday night, June 30th.
It'll be Wilder [E] Hubby, Mark Hacker.
[B]
If [F] you come to [Cm] the show, to the Ricky Scabbard Show, [B]
save your tickets, too.
[C] You're going to enjoy [G] it.
But just in case you don't enjoy it, send your tickets to Travis Tripp, who'll give you your money back.
[N]
It's a good way to do it.
He'll say, if you're a reporter, call someone in the audience.
[C]
I [Eb] hope you'll enjoy it.
[C] Well,
[B] uh, Marty [Eb] asked me to be on [C] his television show last year, which I was.
And, [B] uh, one of the songs from [Cm] a record I made called Songs My Dad [Fm] Loved.
Me and my dad, I'm doing a [C] book right now.
I don't mean to be taking [F] so much of your time, but [C] I'm doing a book.
It'll be out next year.
It's kind of about the [Abm] autobiography of my life.
So [G] a lot of old things about my [Abm] early beginnings, you know, especially with my dad.
My dad was [C] just the best.
He never met a [B] stranger.
Right back here somewhere in one of these [C] hallways, we got backstage.
Mr.
Bell led us backstage.
He was a backstage guard.
I think [E] Dad had given him [B] a case double-X [F] knife to let us backstage.
So anyway, [N] we got back there.
And I was playing the mandolin, kind of leaned [G] up against the wall [Fm] playing the mandolin.
Earl Strutz walked by and saw [Bb] me.
And [Ab] said, that boy plays awful good.
Mr.
Skaggs said, [Em] bring him down for an [Bm] audition for our television show next week.
So [E] go on YouTube.
[D] You'll find me on [Bbm] there at seven years old with a leg-to-flag Earl [N] Strutz.
And I have a vacation.
