[Gbm] [B] Yo, what's up?
This is October 1st.
I'm a producer in Dallas, Texas.
I got [A] the homie Jason Lyric back here.
We're about to go through our sample [Am] pack.
So we're going to go through those [G] and figure out what we can [Am] rock with and see what we
can come up with.

[Bm] Ableton all [A] day.
Ableton gang.
2D4.
[N]
We're going to [Bb] do everything on it.
Push keys, samples, [C] drums, [Ab] everything.
So what I'm doing here
[Abm] is loading it in the sampler.
Chop it up.
It's probably going to be a real simple chop.
I'm going to catch the piano part at the end.

I'm going to do [Gb] something like some drums.
I guess do some [G] drums right now.
[B]
[Bm] I'm going [A]

[A]
[Bm]
[Gb] to [B]
[Bm] [Gb]
[D] make the drums hit.
[Abm]
In Ableton, it's to use the MS-20 filter.
So if you've got an older version of Ableton, sometimes you'll see an upgrade button right here.
You hit it and new filters pop up on MS-20.
[B]
[Db]
[Bb]
[Bm] [B]
[Bm] Hi-hats, I usually do like the first pass.
Like the main loop is usually like if I'm going to leave it steady, I'll just leave
it at all [A] at one volume and one [Eb] velocity.
So just hit accent and just full level on the [G] MPC type thing.
And on the repeats, I usually take that off and just do a random velocity.
Kind of fill it in.
Just kind of give it some feel.
A little bit different.
[Bm] And then you can play [B] with them later.
You can add something [Bm] cool to make them sound different.
I'll nudge them to the right and make them slow.
That type of thing.
But the hi-hat groove is good to generate the drum and the kick pattern.
You know, some [A] people, everybody does it different.
[Bm] It's just kind of my thing.
That groove just kind of helps.
[B]
[Bm]
[D] [A]
[Bm] [E] Drag some of these [B] snares down just to make them.
Because it's two different snares, [Bb] but one's pitched up and one's pitched down.
So I'm going to just [A] drag it down just to keep it.
[G] Keep it.
You know, [Bm] whatever I guess.
One for you.
[G]
The MS-20 filter.
I use it on everything because it gives you that.
It makes it sound like [D] everything was done on an FSL.
[Gb]
[E] I want to add some orbit and shit.
Kind of add to [B] the flyness that's already there.
[Bm] [Gb]
[Cm] [Em]
Playing around with the arrangement, I [C] guess.
And then [A] put a filter on the sample just seeing if we can change [Bm] it up just a little bit.
See how it feels.
[Gb]
[G]
So that was definitely an on-the-spot [Gb] session.
Just a wrap.
