Remember Ritchie Valens (1985) chords
Start Jamming...
A plane crash in the 50s stilled the voice of a top rock and roll artist from Pacoima.
Remember Richie Valens.
[Gm]
Para [C] bailar la pa, [G] para bailar la pa.
Necesito una poca de, [G] una poca de [F] gracia para [G] mi papi.
Arriba y [F] arriba, [C] arriba y arriba.
Porque [G] te debo, te debo.
At noontime we used [Ab] to walk around the campus, make sure we didn't have any problems,
no fights, stuff like that.
Walking around by the lunch area I see a big crowd.
[F]
I said, oh, oh, here we go again.
[Bb] I'm going to have to break up another fight.
As I came [Ab] in behind him, there was this good looking fella
[Eb] strumming on that instrument and singing.
[Eb] It's the first time I have ever heard Richie [F] sing.
And looking at [B] all the kids around him, they were all thrilled.
And they said, is it [Bb] okay?
Because we didn't allow crowds, you know.
I said, you bet your life it's okay.
Richie, you can be here every day at noontime as far [N] as we're concerned.
[Em] Now a success story [Cm] of one of last year's graduates from Pacoima.
His first record sold over a million copies.
And Donna, his newest release is backed by a terrific song called La Bomba.
Now presenting Richie Valens.
[E] I was in a journalism class here at Pacoima Junior High School.
And we were trying to sell the annual.
Sales weren't too good.
So we decided we'd bribe [D] the students with a concert of
Richie Valens and another singing group, John [B] and Judy.
So I contacted the artists and asked them if they would perform.
And [C] the results were the assembly that occurred here on [D] December 10, 1958.
[E] One of the local theaters, they had like an [B] amateur night.
And [Em] people would come up and play.
And as soon as Richie had come out, he [E] knocked the place out.
Really, [Db] literally, everybody went crazy.
Everywhere he went, he had this magnetism.
They used [A] to play so much in house to [Ab] house and was living in Pacoima.
And they [F] started practicing with the Jones and they didn't know what to do with [E] themselves.
Finally, I got him to make some [A] posters and we got the American Legion home.

[C] I [F] have. I have. I have. I have.
A dream of mine of paying tribute to somebody who came from a neighborhood that I was brought up in.
[C] I knew [F] a lot of people that knew him.
I had his records and it's just something that [Bb] influenced me while I was growing up.
[C] [F] [G] The fact was that he was an average [Bb] guy.
He was very quiet, [G] very reserved.
[F] A lot of people didn't really think he was going to make it.
[Bb] And yet he did.
[C] [F] To me, it means that we'll [Bb] always have him here.
He's [F] here.
