Welcome back to the channel.
Since Monday is Valentine's Day, today I wanted to do
another throwback type video.
This one is of a love song called Red is the Rose
that Katie and I sing.
It's actually on our CD if you're interested in that.
The
link is in the description.
This is a really sweet song.
We actually learned
this from a fiddle lesson on YouTube that Katie was learning at the time.
She
learned the melody first and loved it.
Then we realized it had words.
So we
looked up the words and we learned it.
The origin of this song is somewhat
unknown.
Mom actually looked into it several years ago when we learned it.
It appeared at first that a man named Tommy Maycomb was credited with
writing it.
But actually, he says it comes from his mother, Sarah, that she used to
sing this song.
It has the same tune as Locke Willman.
So he's unsure of which
one came first.
Regardless, it's an old song and a really sweet one.
But before
we get into that, since it is Valentine's Day, we want to spread the
love and do a little giveaway.
So we're going to give away some lemongrass soap
that I made, a really pretty pair of heart earrings that Katie made, and a CD.
All you have to do to be entered in the giveaway is just leave a comment below
and then we'll put everyone's name and a random generator and we will pick a
winner.
We will announce the winner on Monday on the community tab.
So we'll
make a little post with the winner's name and then check there to see if you
won and then please send us an email.
And our email is [E] thepresleygirls at
gmail.com. You can also [Em] find that in the [C] link in the description there.
We don't
want you to have to post your email for everyone to see.
You can get in touch
with us and we will [Ab] get your package to you.
So without further ado, let's get
into the video.
Happy Valentine's Day and God bless you [G] guys.
