Start Jamming...
After more than 60 years in show business, this man is celebrating the
release of his 100th album.
He's performed with and been [Gb] copied by some
of the biggest names in the business.
His CD, his latest CD, [Abm] is called I Love Movies.
There's a CD cover with [E] Ray Conniff on the front and [Ab] standing right next to me.
Ray Conniff and the Ray Conniff Singers.
Good morning everyone.
[N] Welcome.
What are
you, what is this?
It's called a clavietta and it's an Italian [Eb] instrument.
It's a little kind of a fingered harmonica.
You know everyone's been [G] looking at this
thing all morning because there are little numbers on it.
We're going, oh does
he play by number?
But that's not the case.
Can you see them?
He's got them
marked.
Which keys?
Why?
Well, [Eb] I'm kind of doing this a while, haven't you?
Well, when I was courting my wife Vera, I taught her how to play Somewhere My
Love [Gm] on the clavietta.
So I did it [Ab] by the numbers for [N] her.
And I can't get rid of
them, they're in magic.
Oh sure, a likely story.
It's the one we all tell.
It's so
nice to see you.
Thanks a lot.
Now [Eb] this, this CD, you put together some of your
all-time favorites.
Yes.
What [Gb] is the absolute favorite from the all-time
favorites?
Actually, oh yeah, [Abm] well that would have to be Somewhere [F] My Love because it sold
about three million albums and [G] like I said before, it's our [Eb] song.
And but
actually the CD is mainly about movie themes.
I love [Gb] movies with title [Eb] and
suppose like we have the main theme from Superman, we [Ab] have the main theme from
Star Wars, [Em] and of course the [G] Doctor Chicago [N] Somewhere My Love, which we're
gonna sing.
Which we're gonna do right now.
And right now.
Yes we are.
Here you go.
It always makes me cry, I have to walk off the stage.
Okay, thank you so much for having me.
Will you stay in case we have a little time at the end of the show?
Okay, we'll play it off after.
Ray Conniff and the Ray Conniff Singers.
Thank you Barbara.
[G] We won a Grammy Award for this wonderful theme from Doctor
Chicago Somewhere My Love and Vera, I'm gonna dedicate it to you on account of
it's our song.
Okay, two, three.

Although the snow
[G] may be somewhere again
Suns in green [D] and gold
And there are dreams
All that your heart [G] can [C]
[G] hope [Bb] for
Someday the [F]
spring [Am] breaks [D] through
[G]
Who'll come to me
Out of the [D] blue though
Warm the wings
Soft as the kiss [G] of snow
Till then my sweet
Think of me now
[D]
Godspeed my love
Till you are mine [G] again
[D]
Oooh
[G]

[G] [C]
Someday we'll meet again

Someday whenever [C] the [Bb] spring [Am] breaks [D] through
[G]
Fear of my own
Think of me now
[D]
Godspeed my love
Till you are mine
[G] Again
[C] Mine
[G]
