[Bb] [Fm]
Absolutely, my first time to Australia.
People are really nice here, I've noticed, you know,
really friendly and I love that.
[Bb]
[Ab]
[Bb] [G] You know, this has never wore down its interest level
in any way or anything.
If anything, I've gotten more excited about what we do, really,
just because it's so much fun.
I have the best job in the world, so, you know, what's
not to like about this, you know?
[Ab]
[Db] You don't get [E] more than me, I [Ab] don't care about that.
[E] I
[Abm] [Db] have only one burning desire,
[Dbm] let me send [E] it to your feet.
I haven't met too many people doing what I do with Hendrix, a handful of people, because
Jimmy is kind of difficult to get and everything.
You know, I spent a lot of time not only
learning the songs, but trying to figure out why he wrote each song.

[D] [Fm]

[Bbm] [Eb] then other songs that were unfinished that we actually finished.
[E] There's a song
called Burning Desire that we'll probably play tonight, and Jimmy never had a finished
version of it.
He never had like a studio version that was complete, you know, and he
mumbled in parts of it, so it was very hard to say what he was saying.
So when we put
it together, we had to hieroglyph it together like an Egyptian hieroglyph, you know?
[F] [Cm] [Eb]
[E] [F] [E]
[Eb] [Bb]
[D] [Bb]
Yeah, you know, they tried to get me to [Gb] fix some things, like they had some footage of
him with no sound.
They wanted me to figure out what he was playing and maybe try to put
it in there.
And I said, well, you know, I could figure it out, but it would really
take, I mean, it would take so long to hit every note that he's playing, and it would
just be really more work than it was worth.
And then at the end, it's not Jimmy playing,
it would be me.
[Dbm]
[Db]
But what I am interested in is there's certain tracks that I've heard where it's Jimmy and
a drummer, usually Mitch or Buddy.
And there's a couple of tracks that are like, I don't
know, 14 minutes long.
There's this one jam with him and Buddy, and I sat down with a
bass guitar and I figured out kind of what I thought he would have liked in there.
And
when I heard it, it sounded great.

[Db] [E] They're really deep cuts, the ones that I haven't
played live.
Everything else, pretty much any well-known Hendrix song, I've played it
live.
But there's the odd ones that go way deep that I really haven't played too much.
I've never played Driving South.
Jimmy [Eb] loved that song.

Yeah, just because it's such a long, extended
solo and everything.
And it took a while.
But that stuff I learned when I was in high
school and stuff, because I skipped my senior year of high school and stayed home and played
along with records.
