I'll play this one by ear, written by R.
Jones, way back in 1580.
There were wars [G#] going on at that time in [C#] parts of Western Asia, and [E] at times they [N] would bring
together people who would volunteer to serve or work with soldiers that were out in the field.
And they had camps that followed all of these expeditions into the unknown and taking care
of the wounded and whatever.
The social respite that was provided for the soldiers were by women who wore, let's say,
protective arm coverings from about the wrist all the way up to above the elbow.
I'm kind of forgetting my, let's see, hand or arm, elbow.
I bet I know what color they were.
So anyway.
Did you even hear that Anne Boleyn was rumored to have worn green sleeves?
Green sleeves, yeah.
So they were called green sleeves because the material was colored green, kind of hides
the blood and everything.
And it's since gone from the prose form that was written for those particular people into
a piece much later.
I don't know where it is.
In 1865, they changed the lyrics [E] and it was called the Vaint Your Throne at that time.
We know this.
