[G] [D]
[G] I [D] first come to this country [G] in [D] 1849, [G] I saw many fair [D] love-yars, but never [A] saw a
kind rather [D] tall around me.
[Em] So I was [D] quite alone, and me a poor [G] stranger and a long way [D] from home.
[G] Well, my true love, she won't have me, [Em] and this I [D]
understand.
[G] For she wants a [D] freeholder, and I [A] have no [D] land.
But I got a container, [G] of [Em] silver and [D] gold, and all of the other fine [G] things that my [D] love's house should hold.
[G] And you will soon be [A] brother, [G] though you will soon be father [D] too.
[G] I'm going for [D] the ramble, this world will [A] all droop.
And when I [G] get weary, I'll pay down in [D]
pride, and blink on Fanny's [G] arrow, Frantise's [D] arrow, my pride.

[D] [G] Well, I wish I was a turtle dove, that would wings and would [D] fly, [G] high away to [D] my [A] love's margins.
[G]
And in her [D] lily-white [G] arms, I would lay [D] there all night, and [A] watch through the little [G] wind, as to the [D] nightingale play.

So this is sort of a cool tuning.
That was [Eb] sero, pretty sero.
[Em] Firstly, I've put a little heavier bridge on this [Eb] G6, just to give it a little [Eb] more meat to the sound.
[A] And I spread the strings a little bit.
But the tuning that I'm playing here is a [C] regular G tuning with this lower G [G] string.
Is [D] that a D?
Let's see.
Anyway, we've got a D, an A, a G, [G]
a D, [G] low G, and a high D.
So the only difference here is that I brought this B string down to an A, which makes the interval then [F] the same as a double C tuning, but down [Dm] in G.
So you can [G] really do things like,
[A] just like you were playing out a double C tuning.
[D] Thanks for listening, you guys.
[Em] Pretty sero.
