Joseph of the Apparition, let me share an Italian tradition with you that was taught to me by my Sicilian mother Maria, called St.
Joseph's Altar.
During [Db] a terrible [D] famine, the people of Sicily pleaded to their [G] patron saint, St.
Joseph, to end the famine.
[N] When the famine did end, they prepared a table of food, giving thanks with the food of their harvest.
After paying homage to St.
Joseph, the food is given to the poor.
The altar is made up in three tiers, representing the [Bb] Holy Trinity, and a statue of St.
Joseph is put in the middle.
Even today, this tradition is carried on around March 19th, St.
Joseph's Feast Day. _ _ _
