[Gb] Welcome back ladies and gents, today I'm going to show you how [F] to play the song [G] Saucy from
[Em] Polyphia's latest album New [Am] Levels, New Devils.
_ _ Before we get started, this is a 3 part video series where I show you how [Ab] to play the entire song.
This video is of course part 1.
Now be sure to [Bb] pace yourself, this is a very difficult song, [A] most Polyphia songs if not
all of them are not [E] for the faint of heart.
Be sure to practice slowly, we're playing in standard [Bb] tuning so get yourself [Db] in tune
and let's get started.

We're gonna kick it off with the first [B] chord, that slow E, 1 with our index finger, dead [F] note A.
[A] And _ then we have ring finger, 3 on the D string, middle finger, G string, [Bb] second fret, dead
note B.
[F] _ _ _ That's [E] a downstroke, then we upstroke, open note high E. _ _
Pick B string, 5 with our
[Em] index finger, ring finger, G string, 7, slide to 9.
[D] _ _
[Em] _ _ [A] And then 7 on the D. _
5 on the [C] G again.
_ And then 5 again, hammer on 7, pull off 5. _ _
_ _ [F] _ [Em] _ _ [A] _ [C] _ _
_ _ Then we have the following chord, 7, 6, 9, [E] starting from the A string to the G string.
We're going to slide that upwards instead of downwards.
_ [A] _
[N] Once we get to our index finger position, _ 12th fretboard, we're going to play natural
harmonic [E] upstroke, 12th E and B string.
_ _ [Db] Then we shift very quickly back to the lower fretboard, 5 index finger on the low E and
D string, 7 with dead note in [A] between A string. _ _
_ [E] Then we repeat the same lick, open note high E.
_ _ _ [A] _ [C] _ _ _
[Eb] From here we shift to another chord higher
up on the strings.
That's 9 on the G, index finger, middle finger, 10, B string and 13 with our pinky on the
high E.
We're going to sweep it, let it all ring out, [F] downstroke.
_ _ Switch our [A] pinky to 12, _ upstroke.
_ _ Then downstroke, 9, 10, shift to a slide to 12, 13.
[C] _ _ [F] _ [A] _ _ [C] _ _
And then open.
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _
[Db] _ _ [F] _ [Em] _ _ [Am] _ [C] _ _
_ [F] _ _ [G] _ [A] _ [E] _ _ [Am] _
_ [Gm] _ _ [Bb] _ _ [E] _ _
For part 2 we're basically repeating [N] the riff we learned in part 1 with some variations.
I'm going to simply repeat the riff now and I'm going to pause at the variations and explain those.

[Am] _ _ [C] _ _ [N] So here instead of playing 7, 6, 9 we're shifting the notes around a little bit.
We're playing 8 on the A string, 7 on the D string, dead note, G string and 8 on the
B string, sliding upwards. _ _ _
_ Once we get to the right position, 12th we're doing the harmonic skin, 12th B and [E] E string.
_ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ [C] _ [N] _ Here we're going to bar the 15th fretboard from the G, B and E string with our middle
finger adding _ 14 with our index finger _ on the D string.
We're going to sweep it, let [Gm] it all ring out. _
Add our pinky to 17 high E, upstroke sweeping.
_ _ _ Move our finger positioning to 15 D string all the way to B string and adding [Bb] index finger _ 13, downstroke. _ _
Open note low E.
[E] _ So _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
[F] _ _ [G] _ _ [E] _ _ [Ab] _ [Am] _
_ _ _ _ _ [B] _ [Ab] _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ [N] once again kicking it off with the familiar chord 1, 3, 2 with the dead notes in between.
We're sliding _ the 3rd and 2nd note upwards.
_ [F] _ _ [N] Once we get to the right finger positioning we're going to pick natural harmonics 5 on
the D and G [G] string, _ [Em] _ dead note on the D string.
_ We're going to then play 7, hammer on 9 on the G [G] and then play natural harmonics 7 on the G. _
_ _ [Ab] Play the following chord 7, 6, 5 starting from the A string all the way to the G string. _ _
[G] Play dead notes, scratch once.
_ You're going to then bar 12 from the A string all the way to the B string and then _ _ [Gb] _ _ [Am] _
you're
going to bar 14 on the D string. _
Slide away.
[A] _ Then you're going to bend 5 on the low E string. _ _
Pick natural harmonics 7 on the D.
[B] _ _ Then you're going to play, _ starting with your middle finger
on the 3 A string, [C] _ _ pinky 5 low E.
[A] _
Then you're going to bar the 2nd fret on the A [E] and D string.
Then you're going to play D string 2, _ _ _ [B]
A string 2, hammer [C] on 3.
_ Then pick 1 on the G [Bb] string, slide all the way to [Ab] 9, [C] _ hammer [F] on 10, pick [B] 12 and then low
E [E] open note.
