[F] Hey everybody Kevin Keaton back again
today, I've got a piece of
Folk Salad Annie by Tony Joe White was the original
Also covered a lot by Elvis Presley
This is a song that the way that I play it is in a this seems to work well for us
I'm going to go out to play it
But your G and your B string that strings
Number three and number two on your net which is going to be remember you count from the bottom
[Em] So
[B] So you're gonna use three two you're gonna [F] play
those two strings open together and then you're gonna push on on the first fret of
The G string which is string number three to get this [E] out
[Abm]
Oh
After you do that while you're still holding that you'll play those two strings again
[Dbm] Now you're gonna [F] add
These two strings on still on the G and the B string.
You're gonna [A] hold down the second fret on both of them
and then you're gonna [N] then you're gonna
Switch your fingers out to where you're sliding
still on the G and B strings, but you're
You're gonna be on the third fret of the G string and still the second fret
Of the B string and then after you play those together, then you're going to slide forward one fret with each finger
[Bm] okay, [A]
[E] [Ab] [A] [Gbm]
[Eb] so
[E]
And [A] [Bm]
[A] [Abm]
[Eb] you're gonna come forward and just hit this note [Gb] right here [F] which is the fourth fret of your D string
Okay, which is an F sharp note
Then the way that I'm [A] playing it is I'm going
[Eb] [E]
[B] Okay
So what you're doing is you're playing
[E] You're gonna be playing
Your [F] open E string which [Abm] is top string string number six you're gonna [Db] put your
[F] middle finger on
fret number six of the A string
one string down and you're gonna put your
ring finger on
fret [Dm] number five of the D string and then you're going to put your ring finger on fret number six
of the G string and those [Abm] slide
[Eb]
[E]
[F] So we're not the way I'm playing it when I'm before I slide I'm just playing those three strings string number
five four [E] three and
Then after that when I'm [A] strumming I'm [Abm] incorporating the use of the top [Eb] string
[E] That [E]
[Eb] [E] works well together because you have your open string is E
and the seventh
[G] fret on the A string is also E in the next octave
[Ab]
[E] [Eb]
[E] When the singing starts
[E]
[Eb] [E]
[Eb] [F] [Ebm] [A]
[G] [F] Okay, so what he's doing
Notice those little ghost notes in there where you're just kind of [D] muting the strings
That just [F] gives it a little more [A] character so
[Eb] [E]
[E]
[Ab]
Accent
[A]
[G] [A]
[G] And then [F] you're going right back into what you [E] had
Good, gotcha
When [B] [Ab] you come back out of it, you're going opposite last time you went A to G this time you're gonna go G to A
[G] [A]
[G]
[A] Okay, [E]
[F] and that is the basic progression of the whole song
Then you just kind of freestyle put your lead in the key of E in there and
I'll be posting more videos in the very near future on different songs
Some that some people that I know had requested me to put up so that they could look to see how I was playing some stuff
So I hope you enjoyed I hope that helps with the basic idea of the song if you have any questions, just you know
