So I was here one time and I played a show in Trev's house and for those of you who know Trev, he was a big part of this scene before he left the town.
And he's an awesome dude and I [E] miss him.
He was [A] sick when I was in his area.
[F] But I played a show at his house and he recorded the whole thing on his phone and I didn't realize he [A#] was doing it.
And before we [E] played the show we were talking about how people love [N] like really rare impression of a record.
And [G#] then because I'm a food nerd I said, [G] do you know why they call it extra virgin olive oil or like what it is?
Why it's extra virgin?
He said, no I [Gm] don't know.
[N] The first press of the olives is the extra virgin.
And then they take all that leftover mash and then they press it again and it becomes just virgin.
And then they heat it and [F] do it again because you get light olive oil and that's why [N] the extra virgin is so expensive and so delicious.
So I told Trev this because I'm a nerd.
And then like two weeks later I was playing a show and someone came up to me and they're like, oh you got a piece of mail.
And it was the recording of the show at his house.
And it said PJ Bond the extra virgin olive oil test press one of one.
[D]
[E] [Am] But apparently throughout the whole thing you can hear like people sneakily cracking beers and giggling.
[N] And I feel like we should put that in a record.
[F] I'll drink [E] on my next record and you can crack some beers.
[A] [E]
[N] Alright thank you guys so much.
I'm PJ Bond.
I'm from a small state [G#] in the [E] US that some other people are from.
And this is my second home.
I'll take your money over there.
[Bm] Laurie [B] Myers used [G] to live upstairs.
[Bm] Our [A] parents had [C#m] been friends for [F#] years.
[A]
[Bm] And almost [B] every afternoon [G] we'd play pop-it on [A] games.
At nine years old there's [F#] no such thing.
[Bm] But was in recognition [G] of her grace.
Brought me back [A] the familiar markings in flesh [F#] from the street.
I bought some [Bm]
magazines, some [G] videotapes, some incriminating [A] acts.
Thought that I could [F#] save her.
[G]
[A] But she [Bm] said, who the hell are you to tell me [G] how to live?
You think I sell [A] my body?
I merely sell [F#] my time.
I ain't no [Bm] Cinderella.
I ain't waiting for [G] no prince to save me and my [A] ten children now.
I was doing [F#] just fine.
And I think [Bm] you know what degradation [G] is.
I felt it on the floor.
At [A] the factory where I worked once [F#] before.
I took [Bm] control.
I answered [G] me.
50K [A] I made this year.
Well, anywhere [F#] I'll sleep.
[Bm] Where's the problem?
[G] Where's the problem?
[D]
[D#] [A] [Am] Where's the [Bm] problem?
Guys, thanks.
I'm T.J. Bond.
