[N] Hi [C] folks, I'm Pete Huttlinger and today we're going to explore chords on the guitar, the
wild, wonderful world of chords.
So let's run through what we've done.
C, C major 7, C7.
[D] D, [D] D major 7, D7, D6 I mentioned at one point.
[A] Here's A, [A] A major 7, [Em] A7.
[C] Let's do this, we're going to start on the 8th fret and play our major chord.
Now that you've learned the names of the notes on all these strings, you know that this is
based on the 6th string.
The note on the 6th string tells us what the root is.
So this is C major, C major 7, C7, [Am] C6.
[E] Then go down one [B] fret, B, B major 7, B7.
Now the only other chord I want to show you that's [A] based on this root, this [C] A note, is
the diminished [Am] chord.
Once again, [G#] it's got a partial [F#] bar here, [A] it's not technically a full bar chord, but [G#] it's
a closed position chord.
So wherever [C#] I play [Am] this,
[C] and here are the chords we use.
C, [E]
E7, [A] [Dm] A7, D minor.
[E] Then we're going to go to this E7, this [C] is the one based off of this [E] C7, [Am] to A [D] minor.
Then we go D7.
[N] 1, 2, 3, [C] 4.
[E] [A]
[Dm] [E]
