We have a celebrity in the audience here, which is very bizarre, because when I decided
to do X Factor, I asked my friend Jason, I said, you know, can you suggest a vocal coach
that could help [N] me kind of retrain a little bit?
Because I've been doing house music in nightclubs with bad sound systems at two o'clock in the
morning to a bunch of people who were either drunk or high or, you know, completely in
a K-hole and really
I've had no sleep, not good!
You know, but like, from the beginning to the end of the set.
30 minutes of that!
And that might get their attention.
But you know, when you're singing to people that are actually sober, relatively sober,
and you've got a microphone that works, look at this, I can just whisper and do it, and
you can actually still hear, and you're all paying attention or you're pretending to.
It's another thing.
So I said to Jason, I need some vocal coaching, I need to learn how to sing as if I'm not
giving birth through my mouth to the notes, because that's what it feels like.
So he suggested this very famous vocal coach, because I'm an Ibiza, and of course, you know,
there's nothing going on there in terms of a vocal coach, so he said, you need something online.
So he suggested this online singing course called Singing With Freedom with Pierre Bristow,
a very handsome man who I
You said looked a bit like my husband.
Yeah, and so he said, he's got a similar gentle way of talking.
And so this lovely Swedish man who lives in LA, and he's this very famous vocal coach,
but bizarrely, he's here.
So
So I did.
I purchased his series, and he purchased his ticket to the show.
So, you know, I mean, it's like
The rest were mutually supportive.
It's very cool that you're here, Pierre, and really, if anybody's looking for some online
vocal coaching, definitely check out Pierre, because he really helped me to learn to relax
a little, man.
Oh, my brothers and my sisters, well, we tell ourselves over and over again, to the point
where it sounds cliche, but we got to keep saying it.
[Gb] All that really matters is today.
Be in the present, you know.
A journalist asked me recently, if you could say something to your younger, patent self,
what would you say?
And you know, I thought, what I would say is, don't fret so much about the future, and don't
spend so much time thinking about where [C] you think you should have arrived at, [B] and enjoy
the view a little bit more where you already are, because I have spent a great deal of
my life thinking about where I should be, maybe not always enjoying fully where I was.
We have to all remind ourselves that all that matters is the here and the now.
