[Em] [D] [N] Let's do a little quickie video and take a look at the new reissue of Paul McCartney's
We all stand together with the frog chorus of course
Because it's Rupert the Bears hundredth birthday Paul has decided that he should reissue his 1984 single which was
Very successful of course it got to number three in the UK
Held back by only band-aid and whams last Christmas
And it topped really what was quite a successful year for Paul McCartney in the UK especially you know there's lots of criticism over
That give my regards to Broad Street film but that album went to number one in the album charts
Paul got to number two with No More Lonely Nights and
As I say in December this peaked at number three this would be his last top five hit in the UK
In fact his second to last
Top ten here with Once Upon a Long Ago was the
Last one in 1987 this was very simple release at the time there was only two singles two versions
There was a seven inch
There was a shaped picture disc which was actually cut from a 12 inch
But it was called a seven inch shaped picture disc and Paul's recreated that picture disc exactly for this sort of anniversary
Release it's a bit more lavish this time than it was originally
It comes in this outer
Card sleeve which looks like an envelope with the stamp everything
It's got this sticker here
Which this was sealed of course that tucks that tucks into there
And then the sticker goes over the top and it's the same two versions that were on the original seven inch and on the original shape
Picture this was never a 12 inch version of we all stand together.
There's this normal version the seven inch version
That's what's called the humming version which is kind of like a semi instrumental
this opens up and then
This is what the new recreation looks like originally this just came in a plastic sleeve back in 84 but for 2020
Comes in a die-cut
Card sleeve which is nicely done
But the actual picture disc is identical on the front and on the back
I mean the layout everything's the same really obviously this is now capital release and not parlophone and there's a few tiny differences
But it's basically the same.
I think the front looks good.
I have to say the back
Looks a bit flat like it's kind of a scan.
That's lacking a bit of life
I don't know you know what they've done to recreate it.
I don't know it's funny really you wonder
Have they still got the original tooling somewhere which allowed them to do this or did they just have to start again?
Interesting question it was quite a long time ago 36 years
That's the picture if you do get
Another bonus item in here, which is a poster of Paul practicing his I'm looking at Rupert the bear pose
So you can see the one there top left.
That's the one that got chosen
These are all the variants.
I think that one there would have been a bit creepy, so I think they chose the right one
again, nice little addition I
Think you can still get these and they might be sold out already.
They're only made available
by a pool's
Universal channels the universal music so certain stores have you discover music sound of violin Etc I
Imagine Paul's website must have stopped this as well
But you couldn't get it on Amazon and HMV and all those other places
So it's a bit of fun.
I guess nice little sort of collectible.
I happen not to have the original so
Kind of justified picking this up, so it's one for the collectors, but a bit like Paul's
Archive reissue box sets
There's a lot of attention to detail here in terms of the die-cut sleeve the outer sleeve the poster Etc so it's
While it's not I think this is about 15 pounds not exactly cheap for a
shaped picture disc 7 inch single, but
You know they've put definitely put a bit of effort into it so anyway
I hope that quick look at the McCartney frog chorus single has been useful
please subscribe to the YouTube channel and
Will bring you more physical music unboxed very soon
