Glorious Day was an idea that first came to us through Jason Ingram and Jonathan Smith.
And I'll never forget it.
Jason was in town and he just got the very [G] first track, like demo of this song in.
It just was [Bm] a verse and a chorus.
And he said, man, I've got a song you've got to hear.
I think this could be a great song for passion.
[D]
And I'll never forget being in his car and he hit play on the track and it got to that [D] first chorus.
And I thought I was going to shoot through the roof of his car.
It was such a because it was like I [G] could I could just see what it was going to do.
[D]
[G] So I actually had been listening to the song and was just really, really [Bm] moved by it.
And I only had a little work tape version.
And when I when [G] I got to the bridge, I started just kind of singing something.
[D]
And it evolved into this idea and something that I love so much about God is that he didn't he didn't stop at saving us.
And I think in in the bridge, that's what we start singing about.
We start singing about that.
We start claiming things over our [G#] lives that we were dead, but now we're [Am] alive.
And we may [C] have felt alone, but [F#] we've actually [D] been invited [F#] into [D] the kingdom of heaven as a citizen.
And so [E] the future is bright.
The future is very [D] bright.
Step [Am] into it.
Believe that God's walking with you.
[D]
[Bm] I have a future.
[A] My eyes are open.
Cause when you call [G] my name.
I'm shining.
I'm red.
I'm not gray.
[D] But I'll never forget, you know, leading it at Passion 2017 and and watching the room just erupt.
And I think [G] the reason it does that is because that's our story.
That's that's the people of [Bm] God's story that we are a chosen people.
And we're called out of darkness into [D] marvelous light.
And so when you start singing about that and singing about coming back to life and our dead [Gm] hearts beating to life in Jesus.
It really brings [D] joy up out of people.
And it's I don't know.
It's pretty great.
