Start Jamming...
[Ab] I tambourine a little bit.
Tambourine a little [Bb] bit too?
That's good to have something to fall back on.
How did you hear about the gig?
How did you get hooked up with this?
Howard Stern Show.
I heard someone tape the Howard Stern Show for me.
I read your talk show here in the New York area.
It was just like that, yeah.
But, you know, I said basically I heard about it, honestly, you know, you just look at it.
Go audition guitar [Bbm] players, you know.
I thought it was [E] a [Gb] nice thought, you know.
But, no, I ended up playing at a club one day, [N] and Dave fell for me.
And the next thing I knew, you know, I was in L.A.
and playing in men's prisons and all that, you know.
Yeah, we did a prison tour.
I told him he was going to come and play for the Queen of England.
And you took him to a prison tour? Yeah.
What a good trick.
We're going to be back with Ozzy and Zack in just a second.
Ozzy, we've got the Zack.
And I'm the Kev.
So, how does his playing style compare with some of the other people?
Naturally, he's a different guitar player than the others because he's a different guy, you know.
But, you know, only time will tell.
I mean, I'm not going to insult him at this point.
We haven't done many gigs apart from the prison gigs.
So, has there been like one song where you start with the way Zack plays and say,
yeah, that's the way it's always supposed to be done?
[Bb] I think he's going to [Bbm] be a great guitar player.
It's going to work out fine.
I can't say any more than that.
How do you feel about this, Zack?
Do you feel, I mean, because [N] people keep talking about the other famous guitar players that play with him.
Do you feel some of that pressure?
Have they been like some of your heroes?
No, I'm really, you know, I'm into it too because I'm a mega fan, you know.
You know, it's great when you donate, you know, pretty much, you know.
It's a surprise I'm still here after the prison thing.
Yeah, okay, so talk more about the prison [Bb] thing.
Well, I was, it came about, I was in a bar one day and somebody said,
they want you to play at a prison gig and I was half stoned.
[B] And he says, oh yeah, I'll do it.
And the next morning [Bb] I woke up and I said, oh no, what have I done now?
I put myself up for an hour.
[Gm] So, [Bb] once I'd opened my mouth, I had to see it through.
And it works out fine.
I think you've had him on MTV, the band called The Scrubs.
The people, the guys that are in jail, I've got our own band.
And we did [N] it with them and it worked out fine.
I mean, Captain, we start recording in February.
Roy Thomas [Bb] Baker's going to be producing the album.
We've written, Zakka and I have written an awesome amount of stuff,
so we're not short of any material.
We've got stacks and stacks of stuff.
It's basically very heavy again.
I mean, I thought the last album, The Ultimate Sin,
was kind of a bit, got a bit lighter parts.
But this new album's going to be real hardcore heavy metal.
Yeah, [C] heavy metal.
When's it going to show up?
Hopefully in the summer.
[Bb] I'm heading for the summer, but I don't want to make any statements at this point
because things always [N] change as it goes on.
But I'm scheduling it for the summer.
I'm touring with it.
We've got a little time single over here, which reminds me about this watch ad.
Have you seen these Timex watch ads?
The watch is called Iron Man.
They play
Oh yeah, I know.
That didn't even use the original track.
It's kind of somebody else's trying to imitate, you know.
My, um, ah.
But it's just for a Timex ad.
It's good though.
I couldn't believe it when I first heard that.
So was that the first time you tuned on the tube
and that was the first you saw it?
Wait a minute.
