Those are all banger albums.
I grew up on a good chunk of those albums as well.
And you know, they've been changing it up for the past few years.
More hits and misses, not as much of their old sound, but
Apparently I keep getting told that this brand new song is like old In Flames.
Now, I don't know.
I want to believe it, but I'm just
I'm excited!
Let's hit play and see.
Let's go.

[B] That's a little chug [Cm]-wug.

[Gb] Ha ha ha, [Bb] okay.
[Eb] Andrew's doing the rawrs.
[Bb] Yeah, help!
[Gb] [Bb] Such a catchy melody.
[Gb] We got the hookahs on the drums.
[Bb]
[Gb] Jeez, the drummer's just going off, damn.
[Bb]
[Gb] [Bb]
[Gb] And we're just back in it.

[Gb] [Bb] This is non-stop riff so far, man.

[F] Whoa, that's dark twist!

[Fm] [Bb]
[Gb] Thank you, [Bb] Doosan.

[C] Guitar solo, they ain't dead, fam!
[F]
[Gm] [Cm] Horns!
[Ab] Gratit, fam.
[F]
[G] [Bbm]
[Gb] Nice, you still got some [Eb] clean.
We're in a real [F] estate of slowly [Bbm] decay.
Yeah, that's a [Gb] dark harmonic minor, like!
I'm [Ebm] fuckin' but I [F] see the next [Bbm] story.

[Fm] Got the stank, Doosan, huh?
[Bb] Tom Bryce.
[Gb]
There's one tomorrow, bro.
[F] The next story [Bbm] never fails.
[Gb] Alright, fine, good [Ebm] chorus.
We're in a [F] state of [Bbm] slowly decay.
Why do you fuck [Gb] in when I'm [Ebm] fuckin'?
[F]
That's [Cm] dark.
[B]
I don't think they're gonna go [Cm] breakdown.
[C] Maybe
[B] Maybe riffdown or solo?
[Cm] [C] [B]
I guess it's kind [Cm] of a breakdown.
[B]
[Bb] [F]
Or GG.
That works too.
[Cm] Thank you!
Like, look.
Like, I get it.
Fans have to evolve and grow up and change
and they can't release the same album like 10 times.
But like, [F]
thank you.
Like, I know it's tough.
I know it's tough too, cause like, you know,
especially when there's sometimes, you know,
the elitists and all that and they're like,
oh, it's not heavy anymore, blah blah blah.
And it's annoying and you know, whatever, right?
And it's not really constructive.
So a lot of times when a band's get that, like,
oh, do your old thing, this is shit.
Or like, you know, it's not heavy anymore.
You know, I don't blame bands that just ignore that
cause it's not, it doesn't do anything, right?
And the band wants to expand and explore.
But I will say, man, I love what they did here.
This sounds like a perfect mix of their old stuff.
The riffs are super fun.
And that's one of my favorite parts about In Flames.
Like, just these super hooky, melodic death metal riffs
that make you feel like you're literally
on top of a mountain in Sweden, right?
And then plus Anders' huge hooks, the huge choruses.
And in this case, it was a huge chorus.
It was dark too.
And it's just, it has energy.
You know what I [Ab] mean?
That's something I just missed.
I just missed that energy.
And sure, it comes in this case
with the sense of heaviness and aggression.
But just energy, man.
Like, I love that.
Thank you for bringing a bit [Eb] of that back.
You know, that makes me excited, man.
So I, you know, I could see why people were saying like,
oh yeah, it's like old In Flames.
You know, I was a little wary, but [E]
I think they did it, man.
I think they did it.
And this excites me.
This is really exciting, you know?
Like, the riffs were solid, very old [Eb] school
melodic death metal.
[Gb]
A lot [E] of, not 5-7-8, because that's in [Eb] drop tuning,
7-9-10 in this case,
because they're probably playing in some kind of standard.
Maybe they are playing in a [D] drop tuning.
Not sure if they're 5-7-8.
But yeah, it's just that with the third harmonies,
very classic.
And even the drums, dude, the drummer was going fucking off,
man.
Like, dude had like really fun grooves
during like the stanky parts,
but he also had like a really good pace with the
there's a bit of the faster parts going in there, right?
And it really matched the guitars and it was great.
It was fun.
It was a vibe, dude.
Yes, I'm so excited about that.
And even like the guitar solo, really fun.
Nothing too crazy or shrunk.
Just melodic and epic and harmonies thrown in.
And the vocals, man, my dude just like bringing it to life.
He did some pretty intense rars, his usual screams,
a little low, a little higher.
And just a huge chorus, which is something I also love.
Like that's the thing, like I wanted the energy
and sure the heaviness is back,
but that doesn't mean like I don't want the clean still.
I don't want the huge choruses.
No, it's the mixture of it all in a fair balance,
which I think is important.
And I think they aced it with this, man.
That's all I have to say.
In Flames.
[Gbm] Thank you.
Just thank you.
I hope to see more of this type of In Flames.
New, but old and modern.
Thank you.

[Cm] _ _ [C] _ _ [B] _ _
I guess it's kind [Cm] of a breakdown.
_ _ [B] _ _
_ _ [Bb] _ _ [F] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Or GG.
That works too.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Cm] _ _ _ Thank you! _
_ Like, look.
Like, I get it.
Fans have to evolve and grow up and change
and they can't release the same album like 10 times.
_ But like, [F]
[Gb] _
A lot [E] of, not 5-7-8, because that's in [Eb] drop tuning,
7-9-10 in this case,
because they're probably playing in some kind of standard.
Maybe they are playing in a [D] drop tuning.
Not sure if they're 5-7-8.
But yeah, it's just that with the third harmonies,
very classic.
_ And even the drums, dude, the drummer was going fucking off,
man.
Like, dude had like really fun grooves
during like the stanky parts,
but he also had like a really good pace with the
there's a bit of the faster parts going in there, right?
And it really matched the guitars and it was great.
It was fun.
It was a vibe, dude.
_ Yes, I'm so excited about that.
New, but old _ and modern.
_ Thank you.
