Hey, I've got a spare a few minutes, so let's kill it by
Doing the guitar solo for old brown shoe.
I've seen other people post
Demonstrations of the soul, but I haven't found one where anybody actually shows you how to play it or at least
[Am] Play their version of it because if you look on YouTube people play it very differently, and I know I'm playing it different from other people
Probably playing it differently [D] from how George did even put maybe there's a point in the right direction
So it starts with this little [Dm] lick
[C] Right,
[Gb] [Eb]
so that's on [Abm] the G string [Ebm] mostly starts with that
So that's ten and eight so it starts a little bit bent up on ten
[Cm] [C] That one in between is the [D] D string at the [Eb] tenth back to
[F] G at seven and nine seven [Gb]
[Ebm] [C] [Ebm]
[F] [Gb] [Eb]
[N] and you'll notice on the band.
You're not bending
You're not bending up a full you know up to the tenth fret you're bending up [Ab] sort of have
[Gb] [Eb]
and then [C] and
This is a little section of it that a lot of people on YouTube play a little differently
But to my ears it has to be this it's that triad because when he does that
Each of [D] the notes in it stays ringing through it and [Ebm] sustains to it, so you know he's holding down a triad
so so after you've got that
[Gb]
so [Ebm]
slide up
G to eight
your
B string at [Eb] seven high E is also eight.
It's like a d7 shape [C] slit all the way up
So it's good when you [Ab] slide it up.
It's G string
E string back to G string [Gb] and
ends on the [Ebm] B and
Then this this little run part that goes
[C] [A]
[F] At least that's the way I hear so so you [Ebm] slide up G and
[Abm] G [B] at eight that's eight right [Ab] yeah eight and then the B string goes seven [B] nine
And back to [Ebm] set and back to that G at eight [Dbm] then down [Gbm] two
frets to six on the G [Ebm] and
[Gb] [C] That's [Db]
[C] five six Hammered on
[Ebm] Right [Am] [F]
that's the D string seven six [Em] five you have to kind of do it
just with one pick [Bbm] [F] and
That's the a string at eight
[Am] Right [A]
that's that next part so once you've got that a
[G] [F]
[A] That's the D string
D string 7 [C] G 5 [D] 7 [C] 5 [A] back to the D at 7
[F] [Dm] [Am] [E] That [Fm] a [F] string you walk down from 8 now at [G] 7 and then [Am] you do the same thing
again, [F] so it's
[Am] [A]
Then then you hit a low a note that's the string of the fifth fret
[F] [A] [G] [Am]
[D] Right [Ab] [Em] [A]
at least again, that's the way I hear so it's a string [C] 5 8
[F] Then sorry it's E [A] string 5
[Cm] 8 a [E] string 7
[G] Right [A] [F]
[A] [C] [Eb] [C] [D]
so that's what [A] we're doing a string a string a a note E string fifth fret
[C]
8 [E] then a string 7 D [G] string 5
[A] [C] 5 [A] [G]
[A] 7 on the D [C] string
5 on the [Eb] G
[C] He does a bend after he does it at 5 he bends
[D] Slightly up it almost sounds out of tune the way it does it because he doesn't bend up
It's almost like a quarter of the way up.
It's not full even a half up
So [A] it's [C] [E] you [G] [Am] [D] [C]
[A] know bend it up just slightly at 7
[D]
[C] Back to 5 [Dm] on G
[E]
Then on the [A] B string it's [Bm]
8
[Em] slightly bent up 8 to 5 and
[N] Then that last note which is in my opinion the best note of the whole song
Is bend up the high E string at 8 so
Really slow it learn it one little phrase at a time like this any [Gb] guitar player could play this
[F] [Gb] [Ebm] [Bb]
[Ebm] So
The main thing to start is you're starting it with the note slightly bent up
So [F] [Gb]
[Cm] [Ebm]
[Am] [F] [D] [Am]
[D] [Cm] [E] [B]
I think the maybe this
[C]
[G] That may be the hardest part of it I guess
But again do it one little
phrase at a time and
You shouldn't have any trouble with it [A] the chords.
I played under it really are just fits
Probably out of force of habit made them look like full bar course, but I'm only playing
[Gm]
[F] [G] I only did the EA and D strings and in fact [A] [F] I did
But [Gb]
[G] as somebody [N] pointed out it would if you were playing like the piano chords or playing full guitar chords on it probably [F] go that effort
[D]
You do a d7.
I guess that would be but [Gb] spreading [Gbm] the
F sharp at the on the low E [Gb] strings
[Gm] [E] But I just [Cm] did them to [Dm] follow the baseline as fifth chords because I don't really hear much guitar going on other [C] than
[Gm] And [D] the guitar solo parts
Good luck with it and let me know if you had any trouble with it, but again break it into pieces and
It's not all that hard
[N]
Doing the guitar solo for old brown shoe.

[Ebm] [C] [Ebm]
[F] [Gb] [Eb]
[N] and you'll notice on the band.

[C] five six Hammered on
[Ebm] Right [Am] [F]
that's the D string seven six [Em] five you have to kind of do it
just with one pick [Bbm] [F] and
That's the a string at eight
[Am] Right [A]
that's that next part so once you've got that a
[G] [F]
[A] That's the D string
D string 7 [C] G 5 [D] 7 [C] 5 [A] back to the D at 7
[F] [Dm] [Am] [E] That [Fm] a [F] string you walk down from 8 now at [G] 7 and then [Am] you do the same thing
again, [F] so it's
[Am] [A]
Then then you hit a low a note that's the string of the fifth fret
[F] [A] [G] [Am]
[D] Right [Ab] [Em] [A]
at least again, that's the way I hear so it's a string [C] 5 8
[F] Then sorry it's E [A] string 5
[Cm] 8 a [E] string 7
[G] Right [A] [F]
[A] [C] [Eb] [C] [D]
so that's what [A] we're doing a string a string a a note E string fifth fret
[C]
8 [E] then a string 7 D [G] string 5
[A] [C] 5 [A] [G]
[A] 7 on the D [C] string
5 on the [Eb] G
[C] He does a bend after he does it at 5 he bends
[D] Slightly up it almost sounds out of tune the way it does it because he doesn't bend up
