O Maajhi Re | Guitar Chords Lesson | Pawan chords
Start Jamming...
Hi, this is [N] Pawan and I welcome you to my YouTube channel.
In today's lesson we'll take a look at the chords and strumming pattern for the song
Om Maa Ji Re from the film Khushboo.
Music was by R.D. Burman, sung by Kishor Da.
Very straightforward chords and very easy strumming pattern.
I'll show you in both bar and open chords, and I'll give the details in the video description as well.
And in today's lesson, I'll have my good friend Shahid Aaj singing along with me.
So with that said, let's get on with it.
[C]
Om Maa Ji Re, Apna [C] Kinara, [Bb] Nadiya Ki [C] Dhaar Hai
Om Maa Ji Re
[F]
[C]
Sahilon Pe Behne Wale Kabhi Suna Toh Hoga Kahin
[Bb]
[C] Kaagzon Ki Kashtiyon Ka Kahin Kinara [F] Hota Nahin
[Bb] Om Maa Ji Re, Maa Ji Re
Koi Kinara Jo Kinare Se [F] Mile Wo Apna [Gm] Kinah [C]
Hai
Now if you want to play open chord with C, instead of what I've shown in the lesson, you could play C here, [F] you could play F, but you'll also [Bb] have to play Bb, either this way or this way, which can be a little tricky.
So what I've done in the lesson is I've used the capo here on the 3rd fret, [C] and essentially I've played an A major.
But because I've placed the capo on the 3rd fret, it becomes C major.
And then instead of F, you'll [F] be playing D, and instead of Bb, you'll be playing G, [Bb] which is an open chord.
So it's easier to kind of [C] switch between this [F] chord, to this [Bb] one, to this one, instead of playing with C and Bb.
Om Maa Ji Re, O Maa Ji Re, Apna Kinara, [C] [Bb] Nadiya Kinaha
[C] Hai
Om Maa Ji Re,
[F]
[C]
Sahilon Peh Behle Wale Kabhi Suna Toh Hoga Kahin
[Bb]
[C]
[F]
Om [Bb] Maa Ji Re,
[C]
Sahilon Peh Behle Wale
[F]
Kabhi Suna Toh Hoga Kahin
Om Maa Ji [Gm] Re, [C]
Sahilon Peh Behle Wale Kabhi Suna Toh Hoga Kahin
Now let's take a look at the strumming pattern.
Let me first show you what I've played in the video.
So it almost seems like I've played just two strokes, one downstroke and one upstroke, except of course you've got to get your timing right.
Now if you're not able to get that timing [E] right, essentially what we are playing is an 8-stroke pattern.
So I'm going to play all of the 8 strokes for you, and I'll put stress on strokes 1 and 4, which are the down and upstrokes that I showed a little earlier.
And then gradually I'll start playing only those two strokes, with the other strokes not being played at all, or played very lightly.
So [C] here we go.
[Eb] So thank you for watching my lesson, I do hope you enjoyed it.
As always, do get back to me with your questions and comments and I'll respond as soon as I can.
Can I talk to you again soon?
