[Em] Hey I'm here with [Ab] Mr.
Nick Oliveri.
You know him, you love [B] him.
[Gb] To talk about some of the basses I like [G] to use, this is my new one.
[Bb] And it's a beauty, as you [A] can see.
It's an Echo Park [Ab] handmade guitar.
It's made by Gabriel Curry and it's got worm [E] [Ab] holes in it.
[Abm] It's like wormwood, man.
It's like an absinthe guitar.
Her name is [B] Abby and she's nice, isn't she?
She's beautiful.
Yeah, she's a good one.
[E] I just got her last night and [Bb] I can't wait to take her on [Abm] tour
and do the Kaius Lips thing with her.
We're going to have a lot of fun and play a lot of shows.
We're really looking forward to doing that.
His company, Echo Park, is obviously in Echo Park, California, [D] in Los Angeles.
[Db] He makes great guitars.
I think this is your first bass?
[Bm] I think it's [F] the third bass.
The third bass ever made with his company and lots of cool guitars.
[B] First signature model.
This is the first signature model.
See, I've signed it right there.
No, that's your signature.
But [G] yeah, I'm stoked.
She plays really great.
It's like three basses in one for me.
[Bm] [E] With the pickup [B] selector, it's like picking up a completely [E] different instrument.
[A]
[E] [Em] Both pickups, you know.
[B] [E] The one [Bb] I prefer is [E] the

I love that one a [Bm] lot.
So I [F]
[G] stick to what I know [Ab] and I like that one a lot.
I'm going to use the other ones for studio stuff, maybe more live.
[Bb] I'm very [Gb] selective with keeping it on all the time.
[B] Sometimes it falls out.
[E] Very cool, man.
[G]
[E] It's got a maple neck.
I [Bb] normally have rosewood.
This is a cool thing for me to have because it adds a little bit more definition to my tone.
When tuned down to C, sometimes you lose a lot of
On [A] these basses, there's now a kill switch, which is an [Eb] idea that [E] Gabriel had, which is a great one.
He made [A] this bass, which I'll talk about in a [G] second.
I like to use a volume pedal because I don't have volume knobs on my basses.
I figure if you're taking for dynamic in a band set or in a song, to get loud and heavy,
I think you really have to be able to be quiet and soft.
Otherwise, your heavy's not as heavy.
I really like to play loud.
