[Am] Hi, I'm [G] Niall Horan and I'm [C] here in London on the set of my video for [Am] Too Much To Ask.
[G] [C] [Am]
When [G] it [C] came to making this video I had a clear [Am] idea in my head of exactly [G] what I wanted it to look like,
[C] what the colouring would look like, how I wanted it to be shot.
[Am] And then [G] I sat down with [C] Malia James who is an incredible [Dm]
director
and someone [Am] that I've been very fond [Dm] of and fond of her work for a long [C] time.
And she really helped me bring [Dm] the song to life and helped me bring [C] the idea [G] of how I felt about the song to life.
Over the last two days [F] we've really had [C] a collaborative effort in [Am] making this video.
My [G] name is Malia James, I'm the director [F] for the Too Much To Ask video with [C] Niall [Am] Horan.
I built [D] the idea [G] visually [C] first.
It just kept [F] listening to the [C] song and looking for these images of [Am] what does the lighting look like,
what does it [Gm] feel like, what does the mood look [F] like, where's the space.
[C] And what I heard back was [D] that Niall said [C] every [G] image in the treatment was exactly how he'd [C] imagined,
which is [Am] incredibly rare to have that kind of connection with [G] an artist.
[F] It was great having Niall there [Am] with his bandmates as well because that gave us the opportunity [G] to capture [Am] his lighter side
because [D] he's so [G] charismatic and [C] so charming and funny.
So to see the way that he and his bandmates have [Dm] this dynamic with [G] one another and catch [C] them laughing
and be able to show the flip side of being [Dm] sad in [C] a breakup and having your friends there to pull you out of it
or remind [Am] you that life goes on.
[G] It was such a [C] pleasure working with Niall and [Fm] such an easy process and [Dm] I was given so much trust.
[C] Just by [Dm] the seriousness of the video [C] I wanted to have a little bit of light [Dm] heartedness in it
[C] and [G] obviously show the [Abm] couple of [F] sides of me.
[C] So having the band in it wasn't important for me.
[B] Sitting down and [Cm] basically just jamming.
[Am] Usually videos [C] you get together and just [Am] [B] mime [C] to a track but we [F] were actually plugged in and [C] jamming along
which helped and we always have a [G] laugh during rehearsals.
So I felt it was [F] just right to have the boys in it and [C] have a bit of a laugh.
[G] [F]
[C] [Am] [Dm] [G] [C] [F]
[C] [Am] [Dm] [G] I'm just [Am] having a freak out and she hasn't even seen [C] this.
[Am] [Dm] [G] Yeah [C] [D]
[Fm] I feel good.
This was [Gm] one I was a little bit nervous about [N] actually.
I'm not very good at acting and then being told that you have to act in public.
[F] I had the anxiety [C] attack but weirdly enough they have this place, this [G] end of the tube that you shut down to shoot movies.
But we did go on [D] the tube [C] and they don't [G] stop people, they can't stop people from going [C] on the tube.
[F] But that's fine because I'm a [Am] man of the people and I go on the tube all the time.
[G] I've got my Oyster card in my back pocket.
[C] [F]
[C] [Am] When [G] it came to making a [C] video for it [F] I knew exactly [C] what I wanted to get across.
I knew how I wanted to feel [G] and basically put [F] across how I felt at the time [C] of the topic.
And [G] I feel like [C] over the last couple [F] of days myself [C] and Malia really got together [D] and [G] brought that emotion [C] across.
It's [F] been a successful couple of days and I hope you enjoy the video people.
