new blue kalimba/tamboura/theremin combo chords
Start Jamming...
Alright, so this is the box.
I call it blue, but that could be getting a name change now.
It's mostly just a kalimba, but then I have some bells and whistles that I can play with
the kalimba.
[D] This is a tambora, and it is tuned to be resonant with the kalimba tines.
So I get [C]
some very nice [Em] resonance with that.
This is tuned to C.
[D]
Also this one right here
is a C scale.
But then, what's kind of new for me, and I got these from Mark Holdaway
at the Kalimba Magic website, I have tuned [F#] these sets of tines to be in [C] chords.
So I
can play a C chord, [Fm] [Gm]
G7, [Dm] D major, or that's D minor, [A] A7, [G] A minor, [D]
D minor.
[C] And that's
the F chord there.
[D]
I got a [C#] comb in there, this is from a mantel clock.
[G#] I use piezo's
[D] in all my instruments, and so I have a spring that runs across the inside, and I can sort
of hit [E] this rubber thing, nipple, that's on a bolt.
It's a nipple with [A] a bolt [G] mounted
through it, and then that bolt interacts with the spring.
Down inside here I have a cheap
[N]
theremin, optical theremin, and I have the theremin plugged into this Fender Mini Twin
amp and the speakers.
One of them is in the spring that runs across the inside, it's just
sort of glued onto it.
The other one is
[G] mounted, I've got a big woofer mounted into the bottom
of the thing, and so I can turn this.
[E] [C#m]
[N]
And so I have, so it's a light sensitive optical
theremin, and I really found I couldn't get much control over it without some kind of
shielding.
So this circle here really helps focus the light and focus the theremin, so
it gives me just a lot more control I feel like being in that hole.
I got a comb, and
that's about it.
So I'm going to [G#m] play a little something.
I'm also using two VE-20 vocal
processors, those are both Boss pedals, and I like to use two loop pedals and get a more
[Em] dynamic sort of loop.
So, [F#] okay, I'm going to play something.
