Hi, my name is Nessie Gomez and [Bb] I'm here to invite you to join the creation of my [Gm] first album.
[Bb] These last few [Gm] months I've been working, creating this first album of mine with Duncan [Bb] Bridgman.
I'm really excited to get it finished, [Gm] but I really need the financial support to be able to complete it.
And that's why I'm here.
[Fm] Diamonds and demons, I [Ab] fight with the night, [Fm] thinking only [Gb] the light is right.
[Bb] But this is [Fm] misguided, I'm not [Ab] seeing it all.
[Bb] There is a place for it all.
So I spent three years in Costa [Abm] Rica after finding this really beautiful alternative community called Pachamama.
[A] It's a place where people go to from all over the world.
They do yoga, body cleansing, [Abm] meditation, silent retreats.
We're really going into the inner world.
Somehow this kind [Dbm] of changed my music.
It touched my music in a very different way.
We were also learning [Abm] really beautiful songs from the native traditions.
Giving respect [A] and love and honor to this thing that we call [Dbm] life.
I'm [Abm] a spirit, I [A]
thank [Abm] Pachamama.
[Dbm] And then I decided to come back to the UK.
[Abm] It was a challenge coming back because it's a whole different world.
The world I was living in Costa Rica, [A] the rules are so different.
It's a different audience.
[G] I used to play in [Bbm] pubs, so you're always trying to get people's attention.
But [Db] for me, having an audience that can listen [Ab] enabled me to write much more delicate lyrics so that people could really take it [F] in.
And I'm [Bbm] trying to kind of bridge these two worlds in a way.
[Db] Which has kind of been a running theme in all of my life.
Being [Bb] Portuguese, growing up in Guernsey.
[Gb] And that was a challenge.
And this is my [F] new challenge.
To create something really beautiful.
[Cm] It's [Bbm] a long way home.
[Db] It's a long way home.
[Gb] I'll be back at dawn.
Got [F] to walk this road [Bbm] alone.
[Db] I would say that the songs [Ab] take you on a journey.
Allowing the listener to just go through a process.
And it's kind of universal.
How we connect to each other.
How we connect to ourselves.
How we connect to the spirit.
[E] [Ab] [E] [Ab]
[E] [Ab] [E] So yeah, I met Nessie about six months ago in Scotland.
[Abm] And I heard her sing and I just said, [Dbm] how can I help to make your music come out [Db] into the world?
So we came here to my boat and we [Abm] started recording the songs [Ab] in basic form.
Just the guitar and the vocal.
It really sounds so beautiful.
And we've invited a lot of [N] musicians to come and join in.
And we've done a couple of [Bm] tracks.
We've gone round and we've recorded some stuff.
But [Fm] musicians play better when they're paid.
[E] Everything goes better when [A] there's a flow in the money as well as the art.
[G] So please listen to the songs.
People were loving the songs.
[A] Give money to Nessie and everything else you give money to.
Thank you [Bm]
[G] [D] [Gb]
[Bm] for taking your time to watch this short clip.
It's [Gb] really important for me to be able to [Bm] complete this album in a beautiful way.
I really [Gb] hope you join the creation.
Thank you.
[D]
