I'll tell you [Ab] a story about that [C] in my next meeting.
[E] What I did when I was writing [Db] this piece, well actually, [Ab] a few months ago, [Bb] my parents
just [Gm] made their 50th anniversary.
[G] So they had a big party and everything and I knew [Em] for sure that they were going to ask
me this thing, so I just thought, you know, I'll write a little piece.
[A] So I was thinking about, you [Ab] know, what to write, [G] what not, and then I came across [C] this
[G] thought about this word, ujibai.
Ujibai in Hawaiian [F] means mist.
But [Ab] in Hawaiian poetry, kauna, mist [G] also, or ujibai also, describes light love.
And how, for me, how I kind of look at it [F] metaphorically is a lot of times in the mornings,
[Gm] Kaneohe, getting up after a really heavy [F] morning, really interesting when you look down into
the mountains, [E] see this light mist, [Ab] how it kind of gathers around the mountains.
And it just kind of reminds me of [Em] like a hug, a big hug, and how [E] ujibai, the mist, [G] how it
surrounds us, how love surrounds us.
So I just thought about [C] that.
And my [G] parents, [Am] but in the third verse you [G] hear me say, nehia pōhea, [Em] which means, here I am.
I was just [G] kind of in the middle of reading, my [E] father calling out my mom, which is kind
of [Ab] funny because their relationship is more like, here I [A] am, you know.
[C] [D] But [Gm] so anyway, I'm going to go with ujibai.
