From Trinity [Dbm] Music City, welcome to the [B] GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame [A] induction ceremony.

[A] [E]
Great, it's an awesome honor to be here tonight.
You know, my band is known for our live shows, but it wasn't that long ago that a Christian music concert
wasn't much more than a sound system and maybe a few lights.
Then came along Mylon Le Fevre, ushering a new generation of music,
adding the visual drama of rock and roll to the music of his faith.
And in the process, he has changed both the sight and sound of gospel music.
See what I [Bb] mean.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't even believe it.
Indeed, Mylon Le Fevre's life story has [Gb] to be real.
No one [F] could dream this up.
Born [A] into a gospel singing [C] family, Mylon wrote his first song at [F] age 17.
That song was recorded by Elvis Presley.
Without him, I could [C] do nothing.
Within a year, over [F] 100 artists had recorded Mylon's songs, and the royalty checks were rolling in.
By age 19, he had written, produced, and recorded his first solo [Bb] album.
But his music was [F] too contemporary for the gospel field.
And by age 25, he had formed the band that later became the Atlanta Rhythm [Em] Section.
[D]
[G] Mylon was [E] accepted and [Bm] befriended by the biggest names in rock and [G] roll,
from Eric [E] Clapton to [D] George Harrison.
Unfortunately, [G] he was [A] also living the rock [Bm] and roll lifestyle to the hilt.
[Bb] He became addicted [Abm] to cocaine and eventually [G] to heroin.
[C] I was strung out, and I didn't know how to get out.
[Gm] A near-fatal overdose scared [Bb] him enough to ask God for help.
[C] And in 1980, he rededicated his life to Christ at a [Gm] Second Chapter of Acts concert.
[Eb] Mylon was about to begin the second chapter of his [D] own life.
After years as a high-flying rocker, he became [Gm] a church janitor while attending Bible [Bb] school.
Eventually, Mylon [C] turned his talents to Christian rock,
a genre [G] he and Broken Heart would come to define in the [Gm] 1980s.
[Eb] Mylon was honored with a [D] Grammy and two [C] Dove Awards [Bm] and sold another [C] million records.
He [Gm] and Broken Heart led over 200,000 [Eb] people to a decision for Christ.
[Bb] Over the course of his career, Mylon has written nearly 600 [G] songs and [Gm] recorded 50 albums.
But those early years of abuse took a [F] serious toll.
[D] In 1989, Mylon suffered a heart attack.
[Gm]
[Bb] [C]
After his recovery, Mylon turned [Bb] to preaching and teaching the gospel,
[C] and that is his mission to this day.
[F] He and his wife, [N] Christi, now minister together around the world.
Joined by the Move Boys and his mother, 1977 Hall of Fame inductee Eva [G] Mae LeFevre,
welcome Mylon LeFevre.
