Hey all, greetings from the beach.
[G] Don't mind the hammering sounds, the guys are
picking [F#] up a house across the [F#m] street.
I thought we'd go through a lesson real
quick on [G] the chord for My Sweet Lord because, I don't know, there's one or two
tricky ones I suppose that you wouldn't get [G#] normally, [A#] but I'm just gonna get right
into it.
Standard tuning but a capo at the second fret.
[A] So it's, [E] you're [D#m] playing
it starting in E minor but it's gonna sound like F sharp minor because you're
off.
So [F#] the opening little strum part is just E minor [F#m] and A.
[B]
[F#m] Sounds a lot better
on a [F#m] 12 string.
[B] This is just still the [F#m] intro and [B]
then it goes to a [E] D.
This is
where the slide part comes.
[A#] [E] So it's D [A] to B minor.
[C#m] [E]
[C#m] [E] Or like [C#m] this.
[E] But D [C#m] to B minor and then it [E] goes.
[Bm]
[C#] It's important [G#m] to get that, this
sort of interim chord before [E] you go to the B7.
So after you do a few of those.
[G#] I
[A#] don't know what it is but it's like a D7 there and [A] then you cover the [N] D string
at the first fret.
So it's, you're only, with this one you're only strumming
those four highest strings and it's D and B at the first fret, G and high E at
the second fret.
But you only strum that [E] fret.
It goes, [Bm]
[C#] goes into a [A] B7 from there.
So really to do the B7 [E] you just take your middle finger off that chord [G#] and
move it to the A string at the second fret.
[C#] [F#m] Then it starts over again.
[B] Now he's
into the [F#m] verse
[D#] and then eventually you'll get through to where it's [F#m] gonna
go.
[B] I really [E] wanna see you.
And it just stays on D.
This is when it's gonna
modulate.
Then it goes to [Bm] D7.
Really wanna see you.
To a B7.
Really wanna [C#] see you.
[F#] Really wanna E.
See you.
[G#] So now it's the same progression except everything is up
two frets.
So that funky little chord.
[G] Now you do up here.
[F#] So from an E.
[G] So long.
[Em] That part.
So now you've got G and B at the third fret and, sorry, D and B.
That's
D and B at the third fret.
G and high E at the [A#] fourth fret.
Now I'm not certain
which one he does and if you watch the Bangladesh Radio you [F#] could probably
actually see it but I haven't bothered to watch it.
But it does.
[D#]
Because you [F#] can
now do that same B7 chord up.
[D#] So now it's C with [A#m] the B string open.
[D#] You can do it
like that or whichever one you think sounds right.
[Am] That's just a [D#] C7 moved up
to sharp.
You know C7.
[A#] [D#] And then it's [G#m] F sharp minor.
B.
[C#] [G#m]
[G#] Be careful not to make it [D] a B6
like I just did [G] with that high E.
Don't hit that high E when you're [C#] strumming that chord.
[G#m] [C#] You can bar it [G#m] like that.
[C#]
[F#m] Really [F#] wanna see you.
That's an E.
[D#m] To C sharp minor.
Really [F#] wanna see you.
[N] Which is just up two frets.
You know it's up two frets from the D to B
minor that you were doing.
Now it's [D#m] E to C sharp minor.
[F#]
[D#m] Really [F#] wanna see you.
[B] [G]
[D#] [G#m] [Gm] So the same [B] progression.
[E] Everything's moved up two frets and you do the
chords pretty much exactly the same way.
So if you have any trouble with it let
me
