Hello everybody, hope you're doing [G] well and hope you're enjoying the video so far.
If you have any ideas [A] for any upcoming videos then make sure that [B] you drop a comment down
below [Bb] and I will see what I can do.
Today I have a very special [Bm] video for you all.
[G] A student of mine, Reece, will [E] be performing a song called Lenny.
[G] Reece, who at [A] just 14 years old, has been playing guitar with [Dm] me and in general since March [A] 2020.
In March [G] 2020, we had one [Bb] lesson in person before COVID restrictions [A] came in and then
we had our lessons online for a while before we were able to [B] resume face to face.
Reece has [A] gone from strength to [Gm] strength and not just his knowledge [D] of the fretboard but
his incredible knowledge of [E] artists, guitars, pedals, amps [Ab] is just incredible.
He is an inspiration to be around and I'm very [G] grateful to be his teacher.
Now, Reece is using his guitar [Bb] named Lenny for this video.
Lenny was built especially for Reece through a friend of [Bm] Reece and his mom, Ali, [A] through
a friend called Larry in Arizona.
[G] It was made to replicate Stevie Ray Vaughan's [Em] 1965 Fender Stratocaster.
At [A] Oatsoda Sounds, the pickups were hand-wired to [D] replicate Lenny's bright and clear voice.
They also have the [Bb] same microphonic [B] sound quality as [A] Lenny.
The fret inlay on the original [B] Stevie Ray Vaughan [G] Stratocaster was taken [Bb] from a mandolin
in 1923 but in Reece's, it was carved and cut by hand, set in [B] resin and then colored
and [A] distressed to match.
Now [G] what's interesting is the [D] profile of the neck is so thick that it's often compared
[E] to the size of a baseball bat.
All the marks from the Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar have been [G] replicated in Reece's Lenny
including the cigarette [Ab] burns, even the headstock [Gb] break.
So, [D] here we go.
This is Reece [Bb] in Studio B which is right next door to the room that I am in now.
Thanks to my [G] landlady Jo as always, thanks to [A] Reece's mom Ali for everything and of course
thanks to Reece for being a part of this [Em] channel.
So here we go.
This is Lenny [A] performed by Reece on his guitar, [F] Lenny.
