[G] [A]
[Em] It was one of those [A] random thoughts I had.
[Am] I just thought to [A] myself, I wonder if it would work if we got everyone back [Em] together.
[A]
[C] We thought the Epics was too corny [D] a name, so we picked this [A] really [N] terrible one.
[A] Mud Crutch.
[E] [Dbm] The record company [E] basically told me that they were [Dbm] not that [A] interested in the band.
[D] [A] You're [G] [Am] glad that they've done so [D] well, and sometimes you go, eh, I'd like to be up there [A] kicking a little bit.
You kind of feel like, hey, I could do that.
He used to get drunk and call me late at night and tell me to go to hell.
[G]
[F] When the idea first came up, I [C] was like, well, [Am] can they still play?
[G]
[F] We [A]
liked all kinds of music.
[Am] It's [G] just a good thing now and then to just do something a [F] little different.
Lover of the [A]
Bayou was originally done by the [G] Byrds, but it's interesting to me that we used to actually [F] do it
when the band [A] was first together.
This would be about [Am] 1970.

[Fm] [Ab] [Eb]
[F] It's a [Eb] little bit different [Fm] dynamic.
We [Ab] recorded it live [Eb] in the studio, and we did the [F] arrangements right on the floor.
The [Eb] songs were [Fm] so fresh.
They'd just been written [Ab] hours before sometimes.
[Eb] It allowed us to cover a lot of [F] ground real fast.
It might be one of my favorite records I've ever been involved with.
And we only did it in two [Am] weeks.
[G]
[Em] The [D] bonus, what I didn't really plan on was how much I would really [Am] like the music.
[G] For me, it's kind of [Em] like I get to kind [D] of see what might have been.
It's just natural.
It really is almost like coming home.
And I [C] don't [G] scare easy.
[D] [C] Don't fall [G] apart [D] when I'm under the gun.
[C] You can break [G] my heart, [D] and I ain't gonna let you.
We're in the days of [Am] downloading track by track and stuff, but it's a record that's good all the way through.
[D] I guess everybody thinks that, that they're on record, but I'm right.
And I [C] don't scare [G] easy.
