[Eb]
Motörhead are rock's most stubborn survivors.
Formed in 1975, [Gb] they were once one of Britain's biggest bands.
[Ab] Renowned for being amongst the heaviest drinking, drug-fuelled womanisers in the business,
Motörhead made the [Db] Guinness Book of Records as the [B] loudest band ever.
[Ebm] [Ab] In the [Ebm] early 80s, they [Db] blasted their way to the top of the chart [B] with Ace of [Eb]
Spades.
Almost 30 years on, Motörhead are still [B] on the [Gb] road, still playing loud and fast,
and still as controversial as they've always been.
[Ab]
[Ebm] [Ab] Motörhead are off on yet another UK [Db] tour.
[B]
[Em] [Ab] [Ebm]
Playing the [Ab] same music, [Db] wearing the same clothes [B] and living rock'n'roll life [Ebm] to the full,
can a [Eb] band really survive without changing?
[A] [D] [E]
[D] [A] Motörhead's lead singer [E] Lemmy is one of [A] rock's legends.
He's now [D] 57, [E] only a few years [D] away from getting a [A] bus pass.
[D] [E]
[A] [D] Lemmy moved to [E] LA 15 years ago.
[D] He now lives off Sunset Boulevard, in [E] an apartment crammed with [D] Motörhead icons
and an obsessive collection [A] of Nazi memorabilia.
[D] He [A] still gets through a bottle of bourbon a day and [N] shows no sign of slowing down.
Why do you think Motörhead's been around for so long?
Because we didn't give up, you know, that's the basic thing of, like, surviving, not giving up, right?
That's the only reason, you know, it isn't through, you know, huge record success [Ab] or anything like that,
you know, because it's a long time since we heard that.
[Bb] I just think we're a good enough band to survive.
I think you deserve us.
Buy in bulk, that's my advice.
[N] How much do you drink a day?
Oh, quite a bit.
I must be the most drunk diabetic in the world.
Good evening!
[Em] [Eb]
We're Motörhead, alright?
And we play rock and roll.
This will be Motörhead's 28th year of touring.
Most 80s metal bands have disappeared without trace,
but Lemmy, the only one left from the original line-up, has kept Motörhead going for almost 30 years.
We've got our batteries, we've seen it all.
We don't know where to go, and we don't let you go.
Motörhead is Lemmy, and Lemmy is [Ab] Motörhead.
We are the ones you [Eb] love, but we're the ones you [Ab] hate.
We are the ones who are [Eb] always too early or too [Ab] late.
We are the years [Eb] that made you used to be the best.
[B] We are Motörhead, [Db] but we'll kick your [Eb] ass.
We're just [Fm] rebelling for its own sake, without any discernible goal,
which is what rock and roll started out as.
Just like complaining and shouting and cursing and kicking and screaming, basically.
Not linked to any kind of politics, because politics is the anathema of rock and roll.
It's the most opposite thing you could find.
I mean, Motörhead's anarchy, if you like, if it's got any politics.
[B]
We are [Db] Motörhead!
We are [B] Motörhead!
[Db] [Ab]
[Eb]
[Abm] [E]
[A]
The 2003 [Am] tour is a sell-out, but it's more [A] Wolverhampton Civic Hall than Wembley Stadium.
Motörhead are off to places [Bm] like Norwich Student Union [E] and Portsmouth [Am] Guildhall,
ending up in [A] Hammersmith for the biggest gig of the [D] tour.
[A] Eleven [Em] towns in thirteen days, a [A] bunch of ageing rock stars, living and sleeping [Gb] on the same bus.
I [Eb] never tried not doing it, you know, not for 40 [N] years or so.
I don't remember what it's like not being in Motörhead, actually.
I mean, I know intellectually that I wasn't in Motörhead once, but I don't remember what it felt like.
[Ab] [Eb]
The [Ab] guitarist Phil Campbell [Eb] first met Lemmy when Phil [Ab] was a 12-year-old [Bb] fan.
[Ab] Excellent guitar player.
He's a great guy.
I mean, I know him so well.
I mean, I've seen more of him than his family have, you know, for the past 19 years.
He's been with me 19 years, you know.
This is a long time.
How old [Bb] are you?
24.
See what I mean?
When you were five, you was playing with me, right?
[Ab] It's a long time.
The drummer Mickey D is the newcomer.
At the [Ebm] age of 40, [Db] he's only been with the band 11 [Eb] years.
Mickey D is a complete egomaniac, which is great because he's in the right business for it, you know.
[Ab]
[Eb] And he's the best [Ebm] drummer I've ever played with, and I've played with [Eb] a few.
Motörhead have [N] always chosen to be a live, working [Ebm] band,
spending seven months on the [Ab] road and two months recording every year.
[Eb] Do you ever get tired?
Yeah.
[Bb]
So how do you keep going?
[E]
You know, dogged [Bb] idiocy, you know.
I'm like, let's face it, I'm not qualified for anything else.
I'm not suddenly going to quit and be a brain surgeon, [Eb] you know what I mean?
[N] And I want to keep it going, you know.
That's it.
I love what I'm doing.
I'm lucky I got to do a job that I like, you know.
Most people [Bm] get to do a job they hate every day, you know.
[E] [A] If you like it too, it's the boss.
I'm not doing it for [Dm] you, I'm doing it for me.
[Am]
Complete selfish, fricking, you [E] know, hedonist son of a bitch.
That's me.
[A]
Hello and welcome to another edition of Book at [D] Bedtime.
[A] I don't seem to [E] have a book.
But [A] I'm sure I'll get one because it's bedtime.
Goodnight.
Don't let the fucking bedbugs bite.
Right?
[Ab] Madam, how dare you?
[Db] Goodnight, Lemmy.
[G] Goodnight, dear.
[B] [E] [Am]
Thirty [A] years on the road and still [Dm] every inch in Rockguard,
[A] right down to his tight black [E] pants.
[A]
[C] [A] [Eb]
I'm out [Gb] of here.
[Eb]
By Wolverhampton Civic Hall, Motorhead are absolutely rocking.
I got no reason.
Motorhead were the first band who could lay claim to being popular with both punk and hard rock audiences.
I was born and raised here.
They were only at the top for a brief period in the early 80s,
but Lemmy's total commitment to the music and lifestyle has never waned.
[Ab]
[Eb] It's just [Ebm] a great band, you know.
[N] And a good rock and roll band is really hard to find, actually.
I mean, there's a lot of people who say they're rock and roll.
I mean, they say fucking Britney Spears is rock these days.
Let me assure you, and I speak from a wealth of experience, she isn't.
And she's putting on a bit of weight now, have you noticed that?
Some porky little fucker.
Probably isn't getting laid much anymore, just lying around eating chocolate and watching TV all day, you know.
Hoping for Justin to call, you know.
I don't think he's going to.
Do you like your women slim?
Who likes fat women?
Some do.
Yeah, I know they do, don't they?
I've [Bb] never been able to figure that [Ab] out.
[Bbm] [Ab] [Eb] [Ab]
[A] [Eb] [E] [Eb]
Over the years, Motorhead have produced over 20 albums.
But they've fallen out with countless record companies,
stubbornly refusing to change anything about themselves or their music.
[N] I think that's what people like about us more than the music, is the [Eb] attitude, you know.
We never [N] gave up anything, you know.
We never let them do anything to us.
We never said, OK, yes, you know.
We never did that.
We always said, fuck you, you know.
And we're still saying it today, which is why we're so broke.
True to their lawless attitude, the band are [Gm] famous for spending as fast as they earn.

Almost 30 years on, Motörhead are still [B] on the [Gb] road, still playing loud and fast,
and still as controversial as they've always been.
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Ab] _
_ _ _ [Ebm] _ _ _ [Ab] Motörhead are off on yet another UK [Db] tour.
_ _ [B] _
_ _ [Em] _ [Ab] _ _ _ _ [Ebm]
Playing the [Ab] same music, [Db] wearing the same clothes [B] and living rock'n'roll life [Ebm] to the full,
can a [Eb] band really survive without changing?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ _ [D] _ _ [E] _
_ [D] _ _ [A] _ Motörhead's lead singer [E] Lemmy is one of [A] rock's legends.
He's now [D] 57, [E] only a few years [D] away from getting a [A] bus pass.
_ _ [D] _ [E] _
_ _ [A] _ _ _ [D] Lemmy moved to [E] LA 15 years ago.
_ _ Why do you think Motörhead's been around for so long?
Because we didn't give up, you know, that's the basic _ thing of, like, surviving, not giving up, right?
That's the only reason, you know, it isn't through, you know, huge record success [Ab] or anything like that,
you know, because it's a long time since we heard that.
_ [Bb] _ I just think we're a good enough band to survive.
I think you deserve us. _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Buy in bulk, that's my advice. _
_ _ _ [N] How much do you drink a day?
Oh, quite a bit. _ _ _ _ _
I must be the most drunk diabetic in the world. _ _ _
Good evening!
_ _ [Em] _ _ [Eb] _
_ We're Motörhead, alright? _ _ _
_ _ _ And we play rock and roll. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ This _ _ will be Motörhead's 28th year of touring.
_ _ Most 80s metal bands have disappeared without trace,
but Lemmy, the only one left from the original line-up, has kept Motörhead going for almost 30 years. _
We've got our batteries, we've seen it all. _
We don't know where to go, and we don't let you go. _
[B] _ We are Motörhead, [Db] but we'll kick your [Eb] ass.
_ _ We're just [Fm] rebelling for its own sake, without any discernible goal,
which is what rock and roll started out as.
Just like complaining and shouting and cursing and kicking and screaming, basically. _
Not _ _ linked to any kind of politics, because politics is the anathema of rock and roll.
It's the most opposite thing you could find.
_ I mean, Motörhead's anarchy, if you like, if it's got any politics.
_ [B] _
We are [Db] Motörhead!
We are [B] Motörhead! _ _ _
[Db] _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Abm] _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
[A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ The 2003 [Am] tour is a sell-out, but it's more [A] Wolverhampton Civic Hall than Wembley Stadium.
_ _ _ Motörhead are off to places [Bm] like Norwich Student Union [E] and Portsmouth [Am] Guildhall,
ending up in [A] Hammersmith for the biggest gig of the [D] tour.
_ _ [A] Eleven [Em] towns in thirteen days, a [A] bunch of ageing rock stars, living and sleeping [Gb] on the same bus.
_ I [Eb] never tried not doing it, _ you know, not for 40 [N] years or so.
_ _ _ I don't remember what it's like not being in Motörhead, actually.
I mean, I know intellectually that I wasn't in Motörhead once, but I don't remember what it felt like.
_ _ [Ab] _ [Eb] _ _
The [Ab] guitarist Phil Campbell [Eb] first met Lemmy when Phil [Ab] was a 12-year-old [Bb] fan.
_ _ _ [Ab] Excellent guitar player.
_ He's a great guy.
I mean, I know him so well.
I mean, I've seen more of him than his family have, you know, for the past 19 years.
He's been with me 19 years, you know.
This is a long time.
How old [Bb] are you?
24.
See what I mean?
_ _ _ _ When you were five, you was playing with me, right?
_ _ [Ab] It's a long time. _
_ The drummer Mickey D is the newcomer.
At the [Ebm] age of 40, [Db] he's only been with the band 11 [Eb] years. _ _
_ Mickey D is a complete egomaniac, _ which is great because he's in the right business for it, you know.
[Ab] _
[Eb] And he's the best [Ebm] drummer I've ever played with, and I've played with [Eb] a few.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Motörhead have [N] always chosen to be a live, working [Ebm] band,
spending seven months on the [Ab] road and two months recording every year.
[Eb] Do you ever get tired?
Yeah.
_ [Bb] _ _ _
_ _ _ So how do you keep going?
[E] _
You know, dogged [Bb] idiocy, you know.
I'm like, _ _ _ let's face it, I'm not qualified for anything else.
I'm not suddenly going to quit and be a brain surgeon, [Eb] you know what I mean?
[N] And I want to keep it going, you know.
That's it.
I love what I'm doing.
I'm lucky I got to do a job that I like, you know.
Most people _ [Bm] get to do a job they hate every day, you know.
[E] _ [A] If you like it too, it's the boss.
I'm not doing it for [Dm] you, I'm doing it for me.
[Am] _
Complete selfish, fricking, you [E] know, hedonist son of a bitch.
That's me.
[A] _ _ _ _ _
Hello and welcome to another edition of Book at [D] Bedtime.
_ _ _ [A] _ _ I don't seem to [E] have a book.
_ But [A] I'm sure I'll get one because it's bedtime.
_ _ Goodnight. _ _ _
Don't let the fucking bedbugs bite. _ _ _
Right?
_ _ [Ab] Madam, how dare you?
_ _ _ [Db] Goodnight, Lemmy.
[G] Goodnight, dear.
[B] _ _ [E] _ _ _ [Am] _
Thirty [A] years on the road and still [Dm] every inch in Rockguard,
[A] right down to his tight black [E] pants.
_ _ [A] _ _
_ [C] _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ [Eb] _
_ _ _ _ _ I'm out [Gb] of here.
[Eb] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ By Wolverhampton Civic Hall, Motorhead are absolutely rocking.
I got no reason.
_ _ Motorhead were the first band who could lay claim to being popular with both punk and hard rock audiences.
I _ _ was born and raised here.
They were only at the top for a brief period in the early 80s,
but Lemmy's total commitment to the music and lifestyle has never waned.
[Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [Eb] _ It's just [Ebm] a great band, you know.
[N] And a good rock and roll band is really hard to find, actually.
I mean, there's a lot of people who say they're rock and roll.
I mean, they say fucking Britney Spears is rock these days.
_ _ Let me assure you, and I speak from a wealth of experience, she isn't. _
And she's putting on a bit of weight now, have you noticed that?
Some porky little fucker.
_ _ _ _ _ Probably isn't getting laid much anymore, just lying around eating chocolate and watching TV all day, you know.
Hoping for Justin to call, you know.
_ I don't think he's going to.
_ Do you like your women slim?
_ _ Who likes fat women? _ _
Some do.
Yeah, I know they do, don't they?
I've [Bb] never been able to figure that [Ab] out.
_ _ [Bbm] _ _ [Ab] _ [Eb] _ _ [Ab] _
_ [A] _ [Eb] _ _ [E] _ _ [Eb] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Over the years, Motorhead have produced over 20 albums.
But they've fallen out with countless record companies,
stubbornly refusing to change anything about themselves or their music.
_ _ _ _ _ _ [N] I think that's what people like about us more than the music, is the [Eb] attitude, you know.
We never [N] _ _ _ gave up anything, you know.
We never let them do anything to us.
We never said, OK, yes, you know.
We never did that.
We always said, fuck you, you know.
And we're still saying it today, which is why we're so broke.
_ _ _ True _ to their lawless attitude, the band are [Gm] famous for spending as fast as they earn.
_ _ Who said [Ab] it was money
