Hi, my name is Tad Suttling and I am the writer of the song Molokai Slide.
There's been some questions through the years as to who the writer is of the song made popular by Ihukai in
1997, so I put this video together with original photos of a luau on Molokai that we went to in
1988.
The story starts in Lahaina, Maui where we boarded the Lin Wa to join the Maui Princess and ride out to the island of Molokai.
We had met a young lady from South Africa named Alex and we all decided to travel the island together and
later that day ended up at a local style luau put on by Larry Helm on the island of Molokai.
And that's where the story begins.
