I [Eb] was born
[C]
in Abilene, Texas, raised there in West [Eb] Texas and over in New Mexico.
Dad was a preacher.
[F] And so I [Eb] grew up with music as part of life.
You know, we sang at the church.
And that was my first time singing, singing in the fold, you know, [E] church music was a
big part of life out there.
So we just, [G]
[N] but I love the nuts and bolts of [Cm] music.
And so when Ange and I [Eb] took a chance on moving to [F] Nashville and seeing if I could make [Cm] a
living singing for my [Eb] supper, [C] I got a chance to do it.
So it just was a real dream come true to [F] be able to actually sing for a living.
You know, I couldn't believe you could do that.
And of course, had years of wonderful experience with Bill Gaither and the Gaither organization
to get the vocal band 14 [Cm] years with them.
Absolutely love my time there.
I [Gm] got to see the world and sing in front of [Ab] presidents and just [N] amazing times.
But felt like at this particular time, it was a good time to break out and [Cm] try something
that I came here [Bb] 22 years ago to do.
And [Eb] that was to make a country record.
And [Ab]
[Bb] I took [Cm] a chance, me and my wife.
[E] I wanted to make [Dm] music that just, for lack of a better way [Db] to say it, just life music.
[E] Music that would encourage you [G] through just everyday life.
Stuff you want to put [Dm] on in the [A] kitchen while your wife's cooking or you're out on the [D] back porch grilling
or you're riding down the road to [B] work or for a day at the lake with the kids.
That talks about life and the human condition.
Are you the [G] one?
[D] [A] Somebody's gonna teach him [Em] about the birds and bees
[D] Drinking beer and smoking [A] things
[A] Are you the one?
[D] That the trumpets play
And the angels sing
[G] Every sweet refrain of amazing [A] grace
[D] And that heaven's hands opened up the [D] gate
[G] And the children danced [A] when they saw your face
[D] I believe that there really is a God who really [G] loves us.
[Gm] And that prayer is a real thing at work.
If we'll just take the time to talk to the one who made us, that he [Eb] has a plan for us.
[Eb] And so I find that as I tend to lay [Gm] my worrying or my fretting aside [Fm] and talk to God about it,
that as [Bb] peace comes, direction comes, doors open, windows [Eb] open, people say it different ways, you know, answers to [Gm] prayer.
But I just really believe it works.
[Fm] It's a good time for us [Eb] to hit our knees and [Bb] seek some help from [Cm] God in times when we don't necessarily have answers.
[Eb] I like the message of the song, obviously, I relate [Ab] to it.
And I like the up-deep approach [C] to it.
It's [Bb] a good way to deal with a deep subject.
[Eb] Knowing what [Gm] I know [Ab] about heaven [Eb] and hell
Son, if you will get a good [Gm] perspective [Ab] on dying, [Bb] you'll have a good perspective for [Cm] living.
Oh, [Ab] take a walk, take a breath, oh, give it all a rest, take [Cm] a painful
You know, the future, what it holds for us, [Ab] I do not know.
I [Gm] feel like a goose.
I wake up in a new [Eb] world.
It's all I can do to get through one day, but we have big dreams, big plans.
I love to sign a bunch of artists and create music that uplifts and [Cm] encourages and [Bb] instructs.
In my book, [Ab] the sky's the limit.
We just, [Eb] it doesn't matter how big the task is, we'll [Ab] just take it on.
[Cm]
I've been Rob here.
[Eb]
Hope to see you guys out there sometime.
I'm singing.
[Bb] Be it.
[Eb]
[Bb] Please [Cm] don't [Ab] worry about nothing.
[Bb] [Eb] Pray about everything.
Yeah, pray about everything.
[Ab] [Eb] Bye, Kay.
[N] Thanks for listening.
We love you.
[Eb]
I'm gonna get you so bad.
I know, look at her, don't you [Ab] dare touch those glasses.
I got it!
Good job!
That is
Can I put that in the edit?
Is that great?
That's the best shot in the whole thing.
