I've been [Db] here for almost 40 years now, [C] and born and raised here.
And [G] so I wanted to bring something to [Em] Grand Rapids that I felt [Am] was going to be different and absolutely [G] cutting edge.
I don't think Grand Rapids is ready for what's about to happen.
It's about to be annoying like nothing else, [Eb] man.
I've had opportunities to do this [Ab] project in Chicago and in New York and in Detroit and so many other different places.
But I really wanted to give my hometown something that I believe that will be cutting edge as well as just [F] life changing and a momentous historic occasion.

[Fm] _ _ [Em] We want the nation to get ready.
[C] It's going to be a little [A] different from what we're accustomed to seeing, [C] but we're going to make it hot.
The lights [Ab] and the sound and the smoke.

And this is my 40th birthday week too.

_ _ [Gb] The reason why I chose Res Life is because it's one of the most state of the art facilities that I've ever been [G] in, [Db] in the history of my musical career.
[Gb] I've had the opportunity to travel all over the entire world and been to churches everywhere.

I'm going to [Bb] be in the light.

_ _ Whatever God places on Melinda and I's plate, I believe that we're up for the challenge.
And I think that that's what God is calling us to be, is that just great, great men and women for the kingdom.
We've known each other since third grade, went to school together and sang together in a community choir.
And we've known each other that whole time.
We're great friends.
Spent some time working together on other things together, things that he was interested in, things that I did independently.
And later we merged ourselves to Mary and now we have a wonderful family and life together.
Even though I bring home the bacon, she [G] absolutely fries it up in a pan. _ _ _ _

You know, I don't understand why God has me doing so many different things like, you know, recording CDs, [D] DVDs, preaching across the [Cm] country.
[F] And so many other different aspects of the things that I'm trying to do in order [Ab] to build kingdom.
But I believe very strongly that when God gives you [Bb] gifts, that [D] you're supposed to [G] do the very best that you [Cm] can to make sure [D] that he gets all of [D] the glory in everything that you do.
And I believe that's why God has allowed me to do the things that I'm able to do simply because, and I mean this, simply because, you know, I try so very [Gbm] hard to yield myself totally, completely to him.
And to make sure that I'm not trying to get glory, but trying to give him glory in everything that I do.
