Marvin and Carvin Winans - The Winans Family Together We Stand News Coverage chords
Start Jamming...
[E] All right, so together we stand the Winans family [Em] tour starts tomorrow in Mobile, Mobile
Civic Center and joining us this morning Marvin and Carvin Winans and the family.
Thanks for being with [Eb] us.
Thank you.
So you guys are rehearsing [B] this week.
Trying to get it right.
Make sure that when the [Bb] Mobilians come it starts here.
All right, so you're kicking off the tour tomorrow night at 8 o'clock at the Civic [Bm] Center
and what can we [D] expect?
This is the whole family, right?
Yes, a [B] lot of Winans.
That's right.
So what can we expect about in this tour?
[G] Carvin?
Well, I [D] think in this day and time, you know, the family structure is so important and so
just to have three generations on stage I think is a great statement as far as family
is concerned and so [Bb] hopefully we'll, you know, people can look on [G] stage and see that and
kind of take that into their own [Bb] family.
All right, and is this [B] going to be a pretty in-depth concert as far as the range of music?
Well, we're going to try to touch on everything [C] that we've done.
When we really try to put the program [F] together it's [B] very, very difficult because there's
so [Bb] many [F] Winans and Winans records and so [Fm] it's [Gb] very difficult to do but hopefully you'll
come and you'll hear your favorite.
[D]
Yeah, you know, for those of you who don't know or aren't familiar with the Winans [B] family,
you guys are twins.
We're twins.
That's right.
Three minutes older here.
[A] Thank [B] you, thank you.
You don't look a day [E] older.
I'm the old looking guy.
I [Bb]
mean, when I ask what it's like, were [B] you constantly singing around the house or was
singing just reserved for the church?
[F] Oh no, all the time, [Gb] singing.
I mean, we made [E] up songs.
We [Bb] sang when we played [N] checkers.
We sang when we played [F] baseball.
I mean, [G] music was just a part [F] ingrained in [Gb] us.
We'd sing over [D] anything, Scrabble games, just make up songs.
Music was always a part of our lives.
Always there too.
Yeah.
Okay, and I wanted to ask you this, Carmen.
I [Ab] know gospel music is taking [B] all the time out of your life.
Especially after September 11th, we saw an increase.
Are you noticing a difference at all since all this happened?
Maybe a growing [G] increase in the music industry?
I think so because since [Ab] September 11th, [Bb] more people are looking toward the church and maybe
toward the [D] gospel for their answers.
So yeah, sure, I think there is an increase.
And one of the things that is so important with gospel music or with the church is the
fact that we do have a song.
[E] And [Ebm] so [Ab] people [Gb] are gathering around [Dm] and understanding [Db]
[Bb] that there [D] has to be.
[Gm]
Thank you so much.
Thanks a lot for [F] joining us this morning.
And best [B] wishes with the show tomorrow.
Thank you.
The Ryan and I tour together.
We stand 8 o'clock at the Mobile Citizen Center.
[N] Be back in a moment.
