Mark Yamanaka @ Pakele Live - Sweet Memory - Makala Pua chords
Start Jamming...
And I [C] got to talk to Auntie Maria [A] earlier, [C#] Uncle Oliver Kelly.
And I got to do one song, one of his songs that he recorded years ago on [N] my album, Late
Fork Henny Henny.
And this song is actually a combination of two songs put together.
One song is called Sweet Memory, an old country ballad.
And my kumu hula Uncle Johnny Lam Ho [C#] wrote a Hawaiian verse to this mele inside of Makalapua.
So the two [G#] songs put together, Uncle Oliver [D] recorded and made [G] such a beautiful recording
of it with the Niihau Brothers.
And [C] I wanted to do this song on the CD, [A] so I did.
And here [C#] it is.
I'm going to feature [D#] Mr.
Bert Nyhan on the number two.
[F]
[F#] Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, [C] ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, [A#] ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, [D] ooh, ooh, [G]
[D] [G]
[D] [G]
[D] [G] [C] ooh, ooh,
It is dark as it [D] seems.
Night after night the clouds roll in.
Gather all [G] my sleep.
My world is just an emptiness.
[C]
All alone and misty.
[G] Filled only by the floating moments [D] of a broken [G] memory.
[D]
Sweet [G] memory.
Sweet [B] [Em] memory.
[A] [G] Ooh, ooh, [D] ooh, ooh, ooh, [G] ooh, ooh, [E] [G] ooh,
[C] [D]
ooh, ooh.
