[G] We [Bm] were excited to come back.
The first time we did E-Town we [G] didn't know very much about it.
[Bm] And it was just [D] such a cool thing to see [G] everybody [D] [A] who's working on this show seems to be [F#m] very
positive and welcoming [Bm] and it's such a well run machine.
[D] [F#m]

It was nice to be able to come back and bring the band this time.
[Bm]
And last [F#m] time we did it we were [D] playing as a duo, which we still [Bm] do sometimes, but we've
gotten a lot [D] of new material that we're excited to [Bm] start playing with the band.
I think too we started off playing bluegrass music [F#m] together.
And [Em] so we wanted, [E] [D] we didn't really want to have a bluegrass band, [G] we wanted to have a
more [D]
spacey electric guitar and drums and bass, but we wanted to have the [G#m] freedom that
like a bluegrass band would have to jam out on some of the tunes.
And to have that ability to look at somebody and they know that, okay, he's telling me
something and then to be intuitive enough to follow what we're wanting to [D] get across.
You know, keeping the sort of duo identity and the duo simplicity of it was [C#m] still really
important to us.
So we [G] knew we couldn't just make a band and have them learn the songs.
It really [G#] was super specific to how these guys play [D] and how we're all able to understand
[Bm] like the sound that we want to get across and the [D] space that we still want to be left
open and unplayed in.
