[A] [Bm] I think it goes back to 1976 when it all started for Makaha [E] Sands.
We recorded this song at Makaha Sands of [A] Niihau.
At that time I had myself, Uncle Moon, [E] Sam Gray, [Bm] and of course you guys know who he is and what we speak of.
He was part [E] of this humble, very first original.
[A]
Song [E] was written by Uncle [A] Eddie Kamai and his lovely wife, Aunty Myrna, [B] given to them [Bm] by Uncle Larry Kimura.
He's one of the [E] professors out here at [C#m] UHH.
[E] [A]
And since you guys have been so good, we'll do [E] another song with this.
[Bm] Second song was written by this [E] gentleman to my wife, Uncle Moon.
[C#m]
[G#m] [A] Wrote this song to a good friend of ours from Keokaha.
What is that?
East?
[Bm] Keokaha East?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, just shake your head.
Maybe you did it [E] wrong.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
East, East.
If you [A] don't know what I'm saying, like [E] southwest, then East.
Yeah, yeah, East.
[A]
Wrote this song for the [Bm] Kaleohano family over there.
I'm going to [E] tell
[A] you a story, a real night, how these two songs got together.
There was one of the first [Bm] songs that we recorded together,
and the second song, Kaleohano, [E] was the last song that we did in [C#m]
1996 [E] at the Naha Hoku [F#] Hanohano Awards.
[E] You guys seen that night?
[A] You guys was crying.
[Bm] If you never see them and you see them after, you will cry.
[E] But today when I look back at that, I [A] still cry.
[E] Yeah.
[A] Let's sing it for you guys.
