[F#m] [F#] Oh yeah.
Hi, [G] this is Matt Sweeney.
I'm with [C#] Mack DeMarco and we have [F#]
these Stratocasters.
Oh yeah.
[G#m]
They seem to match your sound.
[F#] Like when I've heard [G#] your stuff, I assume that [F#] you're playing a Strat.
[G#m] [C#] [F#]
Strats?
[A#] See, I went through, I had a Mexican one when I was a kid.
[F#] That was great.
And [G#m] I decided, if I want a good Strat, it's got to be a really old one.
Playing old guitars and using old gear and stuff like [G] that, a lot [F] of the time I'm kind of like,
well it's not going to [F#] sound good if it's brand new.
But then it's like, oh yes, it sounds like a Strat, [A#m] probably a lot better than, you know, [G#m] with new pickups and everything like that.
So, [G#] what I [F#] need, you know, I need something that's ready to rip, all good to go.
You know?
[F#m]
[G#m] [C#] [F#]
Yeah, I [F#m] love it.
My first [G#m] real guitar, I guess, was a Strat when I was a kid.
[A] This is the only [F#] instrument that I'm [A#] even close to being [G#m] acceptable at playing, I think.
But, [F#] you know, it's just the easiest way for me to get [G#] what I'm thinking [F#] out.
Studio engineers [C#] will probably make great sounding records, but they're going to tell you, this is wrong, there's no [B] rules.
Play a [A#m] guitar, or play a bass through a guitar [G#] amp.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
[F#] Enjoy yourself.
[B] I don't really know what I'm doing.
[A#m] I think as, [G#m] you know, time has progressed, I still like to play with [F#] a pick and I like to shred and stuff.
But the more I can [G#] make my guitar sound not like a guitar, I think, you know, like I really like to DI [F#] it now.
I barely use amplifiers.
Clean, crispy, [A#m] kind of slippery sounding.
[C#] This is [F#] right there.
[G#m]
[C#] [G#] [B]
[G#m]
Do you use [C#] a chorus pedal?
You know what's [G#] funny about the chorus thing, because everybody [A#] is always like, Mac uses the chorus.
I had this little [F#] unit that I used to use to record all my [C#m] guitars, and it had [F#] what was a chorus setting on it.
But what I was doing was turning the mix [D#m] knob all the way up, so [F#] it was only giving me the chorus effect.
I always assumed it was chorus, and [E] when we'd play live I was like, I'm [F#] going to get some chorus pedals, [B] blah blah blah.
And now I'm like, Mr.
[A#m] Chorus.
Little did [D#m] I know, it wasn't chorus, it [G#m] was a vibrato.
So it's not two [F#] signals and one's going [G#m] a little bit delayed, it's just one wiggly worm.
[A#m]
[Dm] It's [G#m] exciting.
It's exciting stuff.
[F#] Show [B] off the whammy a little bit.
Do some whammy moves.
This puppy?
[D#] [A#]
[Am] [B] Oh yeah, if you're strumming.
[B]
[F#] [Am] [B]
[F] I love [F#] it.
[E] [N]
That's gross.
[Gm] It's gross, [G] but bellissima.
It's like a nice meatball, you know what I'm [B] talking about?
[A#] My fault.
Respect.
Is that your phone?
That is [C] my phone, yeah.
[D] Biggest faux pas in the biz, eh?
She wants my PayPal password to do my taxes.
Not today.
Not today.
